Character Generation Aid

By Enjolras40, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

If your groups are anything like my groups for roleplaying, then character creation takes a while and you usually only have one copy of the rulebook to go around. Because of this, I put together what became a 19 page pdf file that outlines character creation in specific enough detail that someone who has never played the game could make a character. In fact, the first time we played, I emailed this to the group and everyone came with characters made without having ever even seen the book.

The document is a combination of my paraphrasing the CRB and directly quoting it. I am posting the link here for anyone who wants to make use of it.

The document also points people to the Talent Trees document provided courtesty of beggingforxp.com. And it would be helpful to have a character sheet such as Caied's Form-fillable PDF Character Sheet.

I hope this is helpful to you guys, and feel free to offer feedback on it.

**Edited to update the link, which now works again.

This is great. I struggled with character creation using the CRB, but I think this will definatly help.

Great, glad it will be of use to you. My current group, which will play for the first time in a week and a half, have all been able to create characters at home without any of them having the CRB yet. I am happy if people other than me and my group can get use from it. :D

One question. I was under the impression that you rolled % dice at the very end to determine how much "pocket change" you had. I am unsure where this is in the book but I thought I remember reading it.

Great guide. I appreciate the time and effort put into this.

Thank you so much for pointing that out. I had never seen that in the book before. I will update the pdf guide to reflect it now.

I would recommend using Doc's talent trees. They're up to date, and a little easier on the eyes. They're the ones my group uses. He has them on his Web site, beggingforxp.com. Nice guide, though!

@Sonofabith, I hadn't seen these before. Thanks. Updating my guide to recommend using them.
