(Probably) the smallest IA tourney...

By Ailowynn, in X-Wing

Just came from my local Imdaar Alpha tourney.

Know how many people were there?

Three.

I was pretty shocked. The same store got twelve folks for store championships, and that was just a couple months ago. Has anyone else seen something similar with IA?

Where should I have gone for my tournament?

Did the winner win two then?

Did the winner win two then?

Winner got first pick and we rolled for the fourth ship (which the winner ended up getting anyway).

By chance, was this in Augusta, GA?

No. Colorado. Did something similar happen there?

It's summer, priorities are weird. But I love my Phantom

I think so but I'm not positive. It was the closest event to me but a 3 hour drive each way seemed a little demanding. I checked the Facebook event page and saw that it only had 3 confirmed players. That sealed my decision not to go.

Well, that certainly puts mine into perspective (only 6 players, so I got the Z-95 I wanted with a 1-2 record and some very poor play).

^ Funny enough, my tournament also had only six players, which made it especially heartbreaking when I placed sixth and was the only one who lost all three rounds, and wait- Jonathan?

Did you play at Titan?

We had 2 local IAs here in Greenville, SC. The first one yesterday had about 9 show up when our usual turnout at that shop can hit 20 easily. The second one today had 15 I think show up, which is better than their usual turnout.

Someone posted o nhere that they had a two person AaIA event. My local one was three players as well.

First one was 8, but it was at a CoolStuffInc store, second was at a very local comic shop. I'm amazed they did the event. The turn out there was 5, in which I placed third. First and second at the second store both won ships at the first tournament. They played together and one of them was pretty hardcore. Got an E-wing and four Bandit cards. GG, I suppose.

The 3 in my area there were 10 on Friday(2 were brand new never played x-wing before players)

8 Saturday (Would have been six, but there was a new player who was talked into playing, peer pressure FTW, and then the TO played to make it even since he didn't want to be the one to make it an odd number)

I think it was 12 today 3 of us played in all 3 events and a 4th played saturday and sunday and one person played friday saturday but not sunday

My tourney had 22. I think its time to move west. But its nice to have all the different players to play against

I was pretty shocked. The same store got twelve folks for regionals, and that was just a couple months ago. Has anyone else seen something similar with IA?

I'm assuming you meant for Store Championship? Regionals only started in May.

yesterday we where 14 and today at another store we where 13.

Bloomington/Normal area in Illinois had an event where only 2 showed up.

I was at an event in the Chicago area on Saturday that had 20 or so to start, but only 16 people stuck it out for the whole tournament.

A store near where I played had only one person show up apparently

I went to one event with 4 people and then to one with 18.

There were quite a few in my area so I wasn't surprised that some of them had a lower turnout

Not much of a "tournament". Hopefully everyone at least had fun.

And how resolve it, did you play???, and the prizes, it's the best part, you know that no matters the results you have a ship secure, right???, greettings.

You should all be happy that at least someone in your area knows what the game is. I've been trying to get friends and acquaintances to play for half a year and nobody gives a !@#$%^*.
