Hi all, I just picked up the beginners game today and expect to get the full core book at a later time. I'm pretty much on my own though and wonder if there is much of an online gaming community?

www.roll20.net has a few Edge of the Empire games going if you want to check out their website.
Also there is a lot of us on here through trial and error and well encountering gm's and players and suddenly having our own questions. There is also the message board that is associated with the beginner game that could also be of help.
There is also this website where they do a podcast called Order 66 and they often have guests who worked on the projects. I really recommend Fiddleback's skill monkey as it can help you not only with this game but how to describe other skill checks in other games.
Find the Skill Monkey podcasts and list to some of their Potelbat Yalp (a streamlined ecording of a session).
Skill Monkey gives suggestions on using skills and interpreting the results. It has been my most enjoyable tool for role-playing and I've gotten a lot of tips on being narrative and creative.
