Jansons Hammer

By PJSkittles, in X-Wing

I discovered this build a few days ago and its done pretty well.

Wes Jenson: Vet Instincts

Ibtisam: Heavy Laser Cannon, Opportunist

Biggs: R2-F2, Stealth Device.

Wes strips the targets of focus/evade tokens. Ibtisam hits hard with 5 dice (plus a re-roll for being stressed). The enemy must fire on Biggs who gets 3-5 defense dice.

The VI seems unnecessary, as Wes already has the highest PS on the team. If you had a way to pass Biggs a Focus that would add some survivability to the list, but you're already strapped for points. Determination might be better so your combo doesn't get destroyed by an unlucky crit (had that happen to me once with Wes). It certainly looks like it hits very hard, though I could see it having a tough time vs a Wedge/Wes list.

Great list! When Rebel Aces drops, I might take failedparachute's advice and drop Vet Instincts to open a point and swap Ibtisam for Keyan Farlander. You get an even better stress benefit, and Farlander will likely roll 4-5 hits, so his attacks ALWAYS connect. Might even swap Biggs out and Retool to get Wedge in there. You give up some defense, but you significantly increase your damage.

Otherwise, I wouldn't change much in your list if anything. I like Vet Instincts on Wes even if you don't have another ship at PS9, because you will ALWAYS be able to strip a token before the enemy gets to use it. That guarantee is well worth one point.

The VI is so he can strip tokens from PS9 pilots before they shoot. It's completely worth 1 point on Wes and only Wes.
