Out of curiosity I want to know the answer. I got the ship I wanted so I don't care what 'should have been' but want to know for the future.

Tad, Jud and Mat all finish at 10 points.

Tad beat Jud and Mat beat Tad.

Jud has 160 points

Tad has 120

and Mat has 130 destroyed.

The rules say to look if anyone beat anyone else. If not then you look at points destroyed.

So Mat and Jud didn't play but Jud has more points then Mat.

Does Mat place first as he beat Tad who beat Jud?

Or does points come in since Mat and Jud didn't play and Jud has more points then Mat?

Oh looks like they updated the rules again.

The new way is to look at the players they beat and add their points up. That makes sense.

Yeah tie breaker is how many points ALL of your opponants scored.

I had this happen to me at the Imdaar I just got home from.

P1 - Me and P2 - not me, drew in the first round but then went undefeated.

P3 - won all 3 swiss rounds

That leaves us 1,2,3 with P3 coming first.

Of my opponants, I had my round 1 go Draw/Win/Win (11 points), round 2 Win/loss/win (10 points), round 3 win/win/lose (10 points) - giving me a tie break of 31 points

P2 had round 1 draw/win/win (11 points), win/lose/win (10 points), win, draw, lose (6 points) - giving him 27 points tie breaker

so i came in 2nd.
