For instance, Comms Booster costs 1 energy to activate. The use energy step of the phase is distinct from your Perform Action step. If you have 4 energy, could you activate Comms Booster 4 times? If not, please cite the text in the rules. I am thinking it can't, based on the Core Rulebook rule that says an event cannot happen multiple times with the same opportunity, but not sure. Watched an epic game the other day and a player seemed to think he could use it three times in the same turn, and then because Comms Booster isn't an action, he could give one of them a second action via a Coordinate action. Is this legal?

I think you answered your own question.

His user of Comms boost is not legal

Comms boost can only be done once pet round

It says "spend one energy.."

Not

For every "energy spent..."

However, if he had two equipped,he could use it twice.

But using Comms boost is not an action.

It's used in the energy phase, so after that he is able to do one action

Using cards with the header "energy " are done in their own phase, separate from the action phase.

Plus so long as you have the energy, you could use 2-3 different "energy" abilities during this step, but only one action

Thanks, guys, that's what I thought. He only had one Comms Booster equipped, but the player was convinced that because you can perform multiple energy abilities that you can perform the SAME one multiple times. I thought I was right. I didn't push the point because it was mainly a pretty social demo of Epic Play for some new people, but I brought it up and he and his opponent disagreed with me.

That's to bad.

I love to get people to play, but really urks me if you're doing a demo and not fully understand.

There are abilities like frequency Jammer that states " spend one energy for every ship choose"

If Comms booster worked the same, then it would be worded just like that.

They key word here is "one "

You can spend "one " energy to choose "a" ship

Well if you see them again, point that out to them because they are playing it all wrong

People asking these questions where their opponents try to say a rule is a rule where it is not.

I almost fell like they are trying to bend the rules/cheat or something in their favor.

In a lot of cases in posts I've been seeing if someone could just read the manual there would be no dispute.

I admit the can be Grey areas, but in some instances, I really think some are just making the rules fit best for them.

Really if people would read the rules thoroughly they would see they are wrong.
