So many Tie options!!!

Crude, but effective. The dimensions for just a full upper shape shows that it's close to canon stats.

[scout/TIE Fighter/TIE Adv] Pictures scaled to one another split view.

**Note: Adv is partial double spheres, no is scaled close to equivalent**

How is the scaled size by x3 factor "A RECONNAISSANCE" Jumbo TIE Ship !?

I concede the EaW screenshot's not particularly informative, but I can confirm that EaW has the TIE scout scaled to the TIE bomber as in the picture above.

On the 24m issue. Are we in agreement that there is no other existing official visual depiction of the TIE scout other than the appearance above? That the TIE/sr looks like this?

[etc]

The hangar drawing that you captured, that looks like's it's in the style of the cross-sections books, though not the particular one that I have. I've been using that book, and any and all other sourced that I can find to help build a deckplan of a Star Destroyer (not as impossible as you might think - if you want to see out efforts, go here ). While I love the cross-sections book, and have been able to adopt many ideas from it, very close scrutiny demonstrates that it also has scaling problems.

The problem we face is that as much as we would like everything to be coherent, nearly any source we draw from that attempts to be specific has its problems. The best you can do is try to find some happy medium between all of their inconsistencies.

Between the stretch-limo and the big-ass ship (as you depict it in your scale schematic - the method by which you created it I'll simply trust), I'd opt for the big-ass ship. In terms of jettisoning the 24m, that's fine by me too, as long as it achieves our purposes.

For my part, the purpose should be a ship that looks like the imagery we have and has enough volume to do what it needs to do. If it's a short-range scout, there's no need for it to be so big. If it's a long range scout that has to plug along unknown parts, engaging in mini-jumps to plot along uncharted space without crashing into stuff, while also accommodating a crew for the periods that it needs to, then I think it should be a large-size ship.

I think the Droid tie is probably going to happen at some point. Maybe be the only non huge ship without focus on it's bar. Maybe have a PS 0 version.

But ya obviously this list has many duplicates like the 3 tie advanced and all the trainers, many dumb comic/video game mistakes, too many bombers, and the tie crawler is a tank. And it would become extremely difficult to design these to be unique at some point. There's 2-3 salvegable ones tops, and it wouldn't break my heart if none of these make it.

Assault gunboats (not missle boats, those are a dumb offshoot) and skiprays should probably be ahead of all of these.

Hanger Drawing is from WotC: Rebellion Ear Campaign d20 RPG pg. 137

My previous post shows dimensions and crude support for this ugly long thing.

by scaling it based of TIE FIghter dimensions which are easily known, it's close to scale by cockpit standards.

Which is the base for all TIE schematics, w/ few sharper angled variants.

If you want proof of ship length increase check out Ghtroc Industries 720 vs Cargo Empress . :)

I just don't see sizing this thing x3 in all dimensions .. wouldn't make sense being a "lightly armored" ship,

Again, it breaks continuity that it's a "TIE" larger starfighter / light freighter

The hangar drawing that you captured, that looks like's it's in the style of the cross-sections books, though not the particular one that I have.

It's from Wizards of the Coast's Rebellion Era Campaign Guide (an RPG sourcebook), a book which lists the TIE scout as Gargantuan, which puts it in the AAT/Y-wing/X-wing size ballpark.

Between the stretch-limo and the big-ass ship (as you depict it in your scale schematic - the method by which you created it I'll simply trust), I'd opt for the big-ass ship. In terms of jettisoning the 24m, that's fine by me too, as long as it achieves our purposes.

The only official pictures I can find have it in the 8m proportions (not the stretch limo) with TIE cockpit of a similar size to other TIE cockpits. What makes sense to me is that the military TIE/sr scout fighter is the approx 8m by 8m one shown to the correct scale in illustrations, and that the Lone Scout, if it exists (can't see why the Empire would sell 'em) has significant hull differences, allowing it to reach the desired size without looking silly.

I just want an 8 point raptor. Even more swarrrrrm.

And a huge Imp ship. Gozanti Tie carrier?

Imagine an Imperial huge ship that could respawn Academy Pilots.

creating new TIEs would have bee so much easier if they had named them PIEs ( http://darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0895.html ). Then you could have an apple PIE and Raspberry PI(E) ( aka the droid version) ....

and it would had easily lead into a food merchandising line ....

I couldn't think of the name of the souped TIE Advanced from the ancient PC game and there it is, TIE Avenger. The only other ship I can recall from the game was the System Patrol craft that seems to me was just a sphere. I have to say to don't read as much Star Wars as I'd like so a lot of the stuff in the op pic I don't know. I do recall the old card game by Decipher though. No one thought of the other bounty hunter ships? Bosk's Hound's Tooth, Dengar's(I think)Punishing One or whatever IG-88's ship was called. I've been trying to figure out why the Rebels don't have access to the Lambda as it's shown to have fallen into their hands in the Tydirium in Jedi. Not sure why the Empire wouldn't have access to a corvette tbh. Also seems to me that there's a YT variant that actually looks to be the freighter pictured on the Out Maneuvered card.

Just had a thought about a baby Star Destroyer that could stand in for the System Patrol craft. Huge ship about the size of a corvette but looks like a Star Destroyer. Cut the SD down the middle vertically, and have a separate top section so it's a put together model to use. Not much bigger than the corvette to store/carry and yells Star Destroyer, in looks, on the table.

At some point, they'll probably have to start on prequel ships like the Vulture Droid, Naboo, and Jedi fighters along with that clone X-Wingy thing. Then maybe a Republic cruiser and the 2 silver ships the queen had.

TIE Avenger please! Empire needs a good, survivable dogfighter. Just please use the round cockpit model!

Forget about TIE's - they can now make Star Destroyers!!

... the ones from "The Star Wars" comics (based on early scripts and concept art for StarWars) - they're the size of an A-Wing and have the distinctive triangle shape we've grown to love :D

I want to go up against a Yt-1300 on this bad boy!!!

Here is your chance!

Honestly thought we would see a tie scout before we ever saw something like this...

I loled at the TIE Experimental mk1.

LET'S INVERT IT!

Now with the wave 5 announcement, i have to laugh....
