Math-wingers analyzing the Han Solo crew-card

Cheers, folks!

Now, for a long time, we've known the benefit to having both a Target-Lock and a Focus, but the Han Solo crew lets us choose in the moment one to use.

That being said, how much extra damage does having that choice provide?

Did I read it incorrectly, doesn't it provide exactly the same damage as either a TL or Focus? the value of the care is that it lets you make the choice.

Dingo: no, its better than either a focus OR Target lock, because you can use it as either.

Basically, it follows thusly:

Upon rolling the dice, if using a Target-Lock effect would net you more damage, you may do so.
Upon rolling the dice, if using a Focus effect would net you more damage, you may do so.

If the Eyes outnumber the Blanks, use the Focus effect
If the Blanks outnumber the Eyes, use the Target Lock effect.
If they're even, you can go with the sure 50% damage, or gamble on getting outliers with Target Lock.

It's like Baccarat, really.

I can't wait for the first time bad luck will laugh at me with:

*Blank-Blank-Focus*

*decide to use Han Solo to reroll all dice*

*Focus-Focus-Focus*

Son of a ....!!

But Han Solo is designed more as a Huge Ship Crew where you can't have a focus token otherwise.
