I remember playing the old west end games d6 system which had a number of starship elements in it. I was wondering how it could be gone about to convert them to x wing miniatures. One battle that springs to mind is from the adventure strike force shantipole which is readily available on pdf. When rebels with the help of commander ackbar retrieved the prototype bwing. This adventure was also turned into a mission for the xwing flight simulator game way back in the 80s. Let me know if you have any grand ideas:)
Converting rpg adventures into missions
love D6, spent over $300 to get books only to slowly resell them w/out ever playing. *sigh* read through a lot and wish they were more canon
But great idea to take something people can be familiar with. Makes me wanna look through them again.
Hey,
I'm also a SWD6 enthusiast, and I am looking to try to develop a series of missions (and to convince other to do so as well).
Are you looking to have the miniatures game supplement your RPGs, or are you more interested in taking that old material and having it be source material/inspiration for your miniatures game?
West End also had the Star Warriors fighter game, wich let you battle it out. My friend and I still have it. You could also use the force to manipulate results, it was a decent game.

I loved D6 with a passion and i had everything i mean everything. Had a story arc that lasted literally 3 years in Tales of the Jedi.
But yes there were certain sequences that could be revisited i think for X-Wing minis.

Probably only as X Wing missions. I say this because it does not lock into the rpg system well and reflect there characters. Its too cold i feel to bring an rpg battle to life. But it is a great strategy game. Though i can use the figures on a space field to and move them around as props for a rpg scene. Cue the 'Asteroid Field' music:)

I remember it well. So much good stuff came out of WEG. I just want to be able to get all the FFG three Star Wars core rulebooks on a shelf and be as equally satisfied. WE'll see.

The West End Games stuff was extremely canon! Where do you think Timothy Zahn and the other authors got a lot of
that material from? Most of it came from the WEG sourcebooks! Sorry you didn't get to play- my friends and I had a group
that played for some time. Almost got an adventure published in the Star Wars Adventure Journal before they shut down!
