Organized Play/"Living" Scenarios

By The Madman, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

HEY FFG...?

any word yet on OP gaming and "Living" campaign/scenarios?

Don't know, but I would think with them still trying to get core books out the door and flesh out the system in addition to having to run everything past the canon police it might be a bit too much to do OP gaming.

Ditto on this. For now there's nothing stopping people from breaking out Edge of the Empire at conventions even if it isn't a living version. Perhaps after Force & Destiny comes out they may take a look at this but I doubt it would happen any sooner.

Personally I'd love if they did a living scenario because that would mean more adventure "modules" to use.

WotC tried to do a living force campaign and it never really gained traction. The campaign guide was pretty good. They then did the PDFs of Dawn of Defiance and it was pretty widespread in use but wasn't a real "living" campaign. The only successful living campaigns in Star Wars are unofficial ones run by Game Base 7 Sparks (WEG) or Force (d20/SAGA) have hundreds of adventures and long term events. With a license property like Star Wars, I would imagine a fan created "living" campaign that doesn't need approval would have a greater chance of success.

what is OP in this thread?

Organized Play, title of the thread. It's sort of like if FFG published a kind of ongoing serial episodic number of online modules and play support information. I doubt with the Star Wars license and the turn around time on the canon police it would be doable. It would be fun I'm sure though.
