So I get what it says. What I don't get is certain scenarios. The way I read it is when he rolls an attack and all of hits are evaded, his attack still has one success? What happens when he rolls all blanks? My guess is that he still doesn't hit. What happens if he only rolls one critical but gets evaded? My guess is that he hits for one critical.

Please help me understand this guy for the tourney coming up =P

Or say he rolls 3 hits, does the defender take all 3 hits no matter how many were defended?

Basically, the Lt "hits" with all attacks, whether damage is caused or not. Some upgrades (i.e. assault missiles) must "hit" to cause a secondary effect. For the example of an assault missile, if you rolled all blanks on the attack, the target would get no damage, yet everyone else at range 1 would still get splash damage.

Yeah I understand the scenario with assault missiles. I want to know what his skill does for regular shots. Or anything else for that matter

A hit is a rules term. It has nothing to do with doing damage, or stripping shields.

It means that you have 1 or more un-canceled <hit> or <crit> results left after you compare dice with the defender.

Normally that means you've done damage/removed a shield, but that is in a way a side effect of getting a hit

When you do land a hit, you then can trigger secondary effects, like the AoE effect from assault missiles or the Ion token when using a Ion weapon.

For the Lt, that means any time he shoots at someone, regardless of what he rolls or how much damage he does, he has Hit the target. That means the defender loses a Stealth Device if they have one, or all ships in range 1 take 1 point of damage, even if the target doesn't.

Lieutenant Blount always removes Stealth Devices from his targets.

Lieutenant Blount always deals 1 damage and 2 Ion Tokens with Ion Pulse Missiles

Lieutenant Blount always deals splash damage with Assault Missiles

Lieutenant Blount always discards his missile, even if he has Munitions Failsafe equipped.
