How to fly those bomber's?

The bomber swarm w/ Howlrunner is very solid, and I have had good success with it at tournaments. A different squad that I also enjoy is:

Howlrunner

Captain Jonus

Scimitar pilot w/ cluster missiles

Scimitar pilot w/ cluster missiles

Scimitar pilot w/ cluster missiles

TOTAL: 100 points

This squad maximizes the Imperial ability to reroll dice. It eats low agility and low pilot skill squads alive (i.e. most Rebel squads). I prefer cluster missiles (only if Jonus is in a squad) because of their double attacks and short range (better against higher pilots skill ships that may try to stay back and then rush forward). And even if cluster missiles aren't great against all opponents, you still have a solid 5-ship list that has plenty of health and rerolls primary attack dice.

My favorite bomber build is this one:

Soontir Fel w/ PtL & Stealth

Mauler w/ Squad Lead

Scimitar w/ Assault Missiles and Seismic charge x2

98 pts

Depending how people react I have lots of options myself. I either fly Mauler as a flanker and pass off his action at range 2 for a focus/target lock or I fly him way behind my bombers frequently turning hard 1 to keep him out of the initial merge.

I've only lost to one list (Darn Wes and Wedge!) but on my second go I was able to find the way to win.

It's even beat dual falcons.

Oh and it destroys swarms.

The scariest thing is a Vader shuttle.

It was originally two gamma's and I dropped the stealth device but I find the meta is 6+ so I used the extra 4 points for Stealth.

I had good luck with a simple Bomber/tie swarm list in the last two tournaments I went to.

Academy Pilot (12)
Academy Pilot (12)
"Howlrunner" (18)
Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16)
Seismic Charges (2)
Gamma Squadron Pilot (18)
Seismic Charges (2)
Gamma Squadron Pilot (18)
Seismic Charges (2)
Total: 100

It's like throwing a brick at the other side of table. Try and arrange the asteroids into alleys to make it easier for your bombers to do their long K-turns.

I like having the 3 bombs, I feel that is the critical mass of danger for any pilot that may end up behind you ether when tailing your or after a joust. It also really messes with your opponent's flying because they are trying to keep from behind you.
