Darth Vader Tie advanced
Engine upgrade
Deadeye
Assault missiles
Soontir Fel
Push the Limit
Hull Upgrade
Turr Phennir
Push the Limit
This so far seems to be very fragile, but fun to fly.

Needs more of these:
Nobody expects the Imperial Inquisition!
Edited by WonderWAAAGHI play a lot with this list:
A three man special squadron where they are all have pilot level 9
Soontir+PTL(30)
Turr+ Vet instincs(26)
Kath+Vet instincs+Gunner(44)
Its a really fun but fragile list
I don't understand deadeye. Vader can focus and target lock in the same turn for the assault missile anyway. So he doesn't need to pre select a target on earlier turns in order to be able to focus for damage on the missile strike. He also moves after, and shoots first so it's not like his target will disappear.
Am I missing something?
I found that using the focus to shoot the missile and then the target lock to reroll the attack worked very well. and its only one point. But I have not run math on it. Just seemed to be a better likelihood of getting a good shot. I roll all blank far to many times.
And now for something completely different.
I ran something similar and managed to take out an 8 TIE swarm list:
Darth Vader+Engine Upgrade+Expose
Soontir Fel+PTL+SD
Turr+Vet Instincts+SD
still trying to get a handle on the abbreviations. What is SD in the list referenced above?

With deadeye you can spend your focus instead of your TL, meaning you get your reroll on assault missiles instead of being stuck with a bad roll and wasting your missiles.

You mean you get to spend your focus to choose which ship to attack instead of being "locked" on one target, who might be out of range of his friends?
Deadeye is normally better on ships that can take 2 focus tokens (like recon specialist or a focus from a friendly ship)
That way you can shoot at whoever you want and still burn a focus token on the actual attack.

...How?
I played a game on vassal awhile ago where a pretty new player was doing those 3 pilots. The game ended pretty quickly as you'd imagine as they didn't have the knack down of how to best use ptl and avoid arc and so forth. I pretty much killed one ship per round.
I like it when I see people talking about what's fun to play, and not just what's the most optimized build.
Vader+ squad leader + cluster
Tur+ PTL + hull
Backstabber
Alpha
Loads of fun. Vader picks his target and does the damage (usually a bwing or YT)...Turr makes it a "circus" indeed especially with an extra action via Vader now and again. Stabber flanks and Alpha is a finisher and can "PTL" with help from Vader. I don't think I've lost with this list but only ran it a handful of times when wave 2 hit (subbing in a Stealth device on Stabber or the Alpha for the hull on Turr).
I would go Opportunist over Expose with those three all at PS9. Flown well Vader, Fel and Phennir all at PS9 can be quite a handful
