Hi guys.

Starting the ball rolling again with the everything in one box topic.

now frostmarch has been anounced as the next expansion id like to know if any one has any thoughts on how the bits will fit in to the box still. My main quiery is that the 84 shiny new frostmarch adventure cards may not fit in the the sideways slot the adventure cards are in at the moment .

Also the spells will now take up one full card slot just like the dungeon cards( impressive).

P.s i have just tried putting 84 dungeon cards in with the adventure cards and put them in the sideways slot. surprisingly they fit but only just and with just a little room to put your finger in to get them out. This must be the last of the adventure cards if you ask me. Its an impressive deck of cards though.

Hi guys

Only played the 4th revised version and im intrested in what they will do with the other corners.

I know they will be puting more boards on each corner and i know what the old ones were called and what they did but as FFG stated that all the components will fit in the main box.

The dungeon corner has a large deck of cards that go with it but their is just simply no space for any other corners to have any large decks and the smaller card slots seem to only be able to hold around 42 cards.

This got me thinking if other corners will have spaces on them where dungeon cards will be picked up and if some corners will just have narmal adventure cards for the alot of the sections and ssay a mountian region was put on a corner they may have jusr the end part of it with mountains and the rest adventure cards( the mountains would be a mountain deck but as their are only a few mountains on the board pice a 42 deck could be ample.)

This is how I have arranged my cards.

The boards and rules sit on top of them and the box lid is only slightly proud of its normal position.

This is VERY close to how I have mine arranged. It all fit in a single box pretty easily, and I keep my cones in Ziplocs (though I'll probably start doing them under the cards like you have yours). Only difference is that I keep my spells in one of the deep card trays (bottom right in that pic) and split the Dungeon adventures between the deep tray and one of the shallow trays. That allows the purchase deck, Talismans, alignments, dungeon treasure, and Warlock quests to each have their own card tray. Character cards are stored in that top left tray, with the minis in a Ziploc above them. Counters and dice are put into separate Ziplocs (cones are split into four little Ziplocs: 3 for smalls, 1 for bigs) and stored in the bottom left container.

I have room to grow, but with 84 more adventures coming in Frostmarch, I think I'm going to run out of adventure card space in that bottom, middle part, and a new solution will be needed. I think if they do another big, Dungeon-style expansion after Frostmarch, then I'll need to find a new box. I don't think the original box will do with another board added in. At that point, it may be time to see what the Conainer Store has to offer.

I was thinking about the same thing today.

It is not possible to add 84 adventure cards + 20 spell cards to the base game box.

It seems we are stuck now...

But wait... i have buy a second base game ! lol lengua.gif

I will empy that box and use it as a second card box...

That will do it for now...

Off course, that is not the reason why i have buy a second base game lol gran_risa.gif happy.gif

But still, this may not be happening, but it does !

Today... i have empty my second base game for the upcoming cards of the frost march expansion and for the already existing dungeon cards..

I have plenty of spaces left now.

At least one new expansion can to be added there.

I will put the ending cards also in that box gran_risa.gif

I am happy that i can use that second box for something usefull.

Off course, i have take all the contents of the base game out of the box cool.gif

may i ask why you bought a second copy of talisman?

Also i have thought through the next expansion buy using dungeon cards to represent the cards that are going to be added. adding 84 adventure cards works ok as the deep side slot just about holds them all with a little bit of space left you can use to get them back out.

The adventure cards not fitting in that space was my main concern but they do indeed fit. also the 20 magic cards fit in one of the 2 deep slots and still have plenty of room for more to be added.

The warlock cards will have their own shallow slot and will fit all 36 with space for more.

From how my box will look after frostmarch their a 3 shallow slots left all able to hold 42ish cards each so their is still room for more types of card to come. I dont belive we wil see any more large decks of cards like the dungeon set and think they have a different plan for each corner that dont just make the board largr like the dungeon but add more things to do. For example the city wont have a large deck of cards and will probably rely more on what is writen on the spaces and large cards like the character cards.

I think the city could possible be the next big expansion and after that probably hope to see a more character oriented expansion. Who knows.

Point being the main box will hold up.

Hi jsutcliffe,

The reason why i bought a second base game is because my box was falling on the ground, and was damaged.

The board was also a little damaged, and because i am a perfectionist, i have paid for another base game.

Actually this is madness i think, but i was pretty sure about it, that i wanted to buy another one.

That's the main reason.

But luckily, i can use it now for the other 84 ! adventure cards that are coming with the frostmarch expansion because there is no room for that anymore in my other main base box. This goes also for the dungeon cards..

I will put the ending cards too in the second base box etc

I also want to sorting out my cards by type and not that there are adventure cards in each expansion box..

-----------

Anyway, i think that the Mountain expansion and Forest expansion will also become a 128 card deck or something around that number..

The more cards the better, but i hope that FFG will think about something that can hold more cards..

I like to see FFG make a big collector box to fit everything.

I hope that the box from the Highlands has a better inlay.

How can ffg forget about that part.

Now that the 4th expansion is coming out, there is no room for my cards sad.gif

My Dungeon box with its flipped insert still has tons of room for cards. I'd say could still probably double the current amount of cards before I need to start thinking about a new sorting solution. And this is with all the cards sleeved, taking more space than non-sleeved cards.

But i don't want to flip the inlay from the Dungeon upside down.

I just want a inlay so that more cards can be stored ( something like the mainbox, but far more better.

Is that really so difficult for FFG?

The inlay from the Dungeon could be more useful than it was.

They could made plenty of room for cards, with a nice color sad.gif

Why not flip the insert? I've thrown several inserts away because they are utterly useless for storing the components, especially once the cards are sleeved.

You have thrown several inserts away? sorpresa.gif

I like to keep the boxes as it is.

I am also afraid of damaging the box when i placed the inlay upside down.

It's not the way how it must be used.

Maybe i am crazy enough to buy a third base game, just to need room for more cards happy.gif

But i hope that a other alternative will come..

If the serves no purpose or even hinders storage, then out it goes. If I can keep it, I don't mind hanging on to it, but have no emotional connection to those pieces of cardboard, after all, they have no effect on actual gameplay, so the game plays the same, or no gran_risa.gif .

Curious, why do you feel the box might get damaged when placing the upside down (talking Dungeon here from my experience) but not if the is in there normally?

It seems you are very easy with those things.

I like to keep things as they are.

Well, the inlay is very tight inside the box. if i take it out, it will slightly hit the box. I am just afraid of damaging.

On top of that, it don't feels good to place it upside down..

But that's me.. sonrojado.gif

Hey Velhart,

If you need more room for your talisman stuff, you might think of doing like I did and move all the boards, cards, dices ...everything! into my old 3rd edition box and it all fits in. Now I'm good for the next 16 expensions without worrying about the box size and figuring how to put everything inside the same box.

We might get an inlay for cards from FFG in the future with an expansion but I don't think it will be something availlable as an item in the shop as it seems to me that only Talisman and Arckam Horror do have a huge amount of cards and the card-size is different for both games.

Here's hoping to see the 4th edition Dragon King stretching his wings over a future Dragon Tower, long live the king....

Cheers

Definately, having an tray in the dungeon expansion would have been the way to go. I mean, likely everyone is keeping the large boxes no matter what. So all cards could go in one large box (with a properly developed tray), and all pieces in a second large box, and (later) all boards in the third large box, and (later) all mini expansion boxs in one box. The reality is eventually going to be 6 large boxes and 5 mini boxes.

How much can those thin plastic trays actually cost in mass production? 10cents? 25cents? Even if they were identical to the original revised run (so set up fees could be avoided) theyd still provided massive improvement over cardboard nothingness. Raise the price a quarter and I'm in!

Granted the 6th large box will probably not be the same size as the first 5 (if the center board is last developed).

so total, we can predict 5 large matching size boxes, 1 odd large box, and 5 mini cool, but relatively useless boxes - i currently have all my characters in one of the mini boxes. Wow Mr. Brogger - all those painted miniatures tossed in general storage together - i almost cried when i saw that!

I also cannot believe Mr. Blogger keeps them in there.

I ve put every single figure in a tiny plastic bag and keep them in the reaper expansion box.

So the Big box is filled only with cards - which i keep in a handmade box for every kind.

This way nothing gets mixed up even when i travel with it.

If FFG won´t produce a big box after their last upgrade for talisman i will build a box myself - what might be very fun.

of course there is always the possibility of an expansion (or two) that connects the corner pieces on the lengthwise side of the board.

Heck, this could be (will be) dragged out over a period much longer than gaming addicts would wish to wait.

And i was checking out more info on the forums and subsequent links, i noticed there was an unofficial pc game. How nice of Games Workshop to pull the old intellectual property routine on the creator when their pc game died enfadado.gif . I didnt think they could do that if the person wasnt profiting from it. Thats not entirely different from this site posting user created cards and game rules and someone saying hey we dont like that, CLOSE down or else.

My solution for card storage was to purchase an aluminum carry case and move all of my Talisman components over to it. As a result, I have plenty of storage and lots of storage for future expansions and boards. In addition, all of my materials are neatly organized and protected. Also since, I'm not using my Talisman box for storage, it is not subject to wear and tear and damage. Here is a photo of the case beside of my Talisman box for comparison. The case measures 18" long by 13" wide by 6" high. I've also considered using sticker paper and printing some Talisman graphics to decorate the exterior of the case.

outsidecase4.jpg

For cards, tokens, miniatures, and other item storage, I use the "Really Useful Boxes" that are discussed in the following forum topic.

new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp

The breakdown of box sizes are: 3 Qty - .1 LT 6 Qty - .2 LT 10 Qty - .3 LT

cards4.jpg board4q.jpg

The top has storage where a flap folds down and there is storage behind. This is where I store my Talisman main board and Dungeon board.

Total cost of my card storage solution - $40.00, Carry Case - $20.00. "Really Useful Boxes" - $20.00. For the security against damage, the extra storage space and the organization, I didn't feel the price was too excessive.

That seems very handy gran_risa.gif If I can find a way to decorate this box, this might be the solution I will go for as well.

Thank you for the pictures.

One box would be an awesome idea. I just recently bought the Frostmarch and Reaper expansion sets, and have the dungeon. To be honest, I was a little upset that there is no way to store all the items in one box. Not just the adventure, spell, etc., cards, but the characters and their cards as well - and to keep them separated in case you don’t want to play with the whole shebang. Maybe I’m too much of a neat freak, but when you invest in a game this size, you want it to be around, and nice, for quite some time.
Glancing at the photos and comments, I would agree. I think FF should come out with a box to contain all the cards and characters along with the cones for life, strength and craft and let’s not forget the fate and gold. Man those things drive me nuts! Maybe my fingers are too big I don’t know…
I am trying to come up with a better system to store then along with a way to contain the cards when using them. One has to admit, that is a huge amount of adventure cards when you use all the expansion sets.

New to the boards so forgive me if this is covered elswhere...I'm nmore interestd in your PAINTED charcters...did you do personally do this? Call me a rookie if you need to... happy.gif
