questions of a french guy about the new set and his distribution

By pisistrate, in UFS General Discussion

hello everybody !!!

i am a player of this great game since the begining and i have always the opportunities to buy my boxes of ufs boosters in french game stores, but with the new set (soulcalibur IV and shadowar) nobody in France have these boxes....

the french distributor, edge, says to me, as i am the boss of my games shop, that there is a problem with the soulcalibur's licence, this matter prevents edge to distribute the new set...

so my questions are simple, edge says the truth ? if yes how this matter can be resolve ?

because my players want to open the new boosters !!!!

sorry if i post in the bad place.

As far as I am aware, there is no license to distribute Namco License UFS in Europe. I imagine you would need to source them from the US. As to how this could be resolved, I would assume FFG tried to (as that would make sense). I am sure though there are people out there more qualified to answer your question than me, but this is what I have heard.

Hey guys!

Please note, I'm answering this just as a guy who's been around the gaming industry for a bit, not in any sort of official capacity.

Typically licenses will cover distribution regarding specific language regions.

So in this instance FFG may not be allowed to sell the Soul Calibur product directly to french distributors, however the French distributors would probably be able to pick them from a fellow distributor, who isn't restricted in sales like FFG would have to be if they abided by the license.

Alternatively if your distributor is the one that is prohibited from distributing the product, they would probably understand if you had to contact a different distributor to acquire the product.

Sadly companies typically cannot or will not speak about the contractual obligations of their licenses. So we probably will never get a direct answer on the matter.

Best of Luck.

thanks a lot both of you !!

i will do my best for having this products !!
