One of my players, a male Besalisk Marauder, wants to use a Vibro-Greatsword with two of his arms and have Vibroknucklers on the remaining two hands. But for some reason, tiredness or whatever, I cannot seem to find ANY rules on Dual Wielding at all. Any help guys?
Dual Wield - where in the book?
p.210, although using a 2 hander and something else is your call.
You want to review this thread:
The Besalisk can't really dual wield because per RAW all the weapons need to be one-handers. But assuming you'd allow it, first, it would be +2 base difficulty because he'll be using different skills (melee, and brawl), and I'd add an additional difficulty for the extra attack, so base would be +3 difficulty, or PPPPP. I suppose he could then use 2 knives instead of vibro-knucklers so he's using melee all around, making the difficulty PPPP. But he still needs 2 Advantages per extra hit, so 4 to hit with everything.
Also, and I'm not trying to be pedantic, but it's Two Weapon Combat in EotE not Dual Wield which is a D&D (and like games) term. TWC and DW work fairly different in EotE and it's probably a good idea to keep the terms different so people migrating over from those games don't get the concepts confused.
EotE rules are built on the premiss that a Combat round is around a minute and each roll represents the outcome of that minute which could be many shots/swings or only one, as well as whats happening during that time that affects the PC, their Opponent, sometimes other PCs or NPCs, even the environment. It's not at all like a D&D To Hit roll so you have to really let go of the D&D Combat mentality.
Edited because sometimes I'm an idiot...
Also, and I'm not trying to be pedantic, but it's Two Weapon Fighting in EotE not Dual Wield which is a D&D (and like games) term. TWF and DW work fairly different in EotE and it's probably a good idea to keep the terms different so people migrating over from those games don't get the concepts confused.
To be pedantic, it's technically "Two Weapon Combat", but I had to go back to the rules and re-read them several times to notice that.
Otherwise, I completely agree with you.

Doh!
Hoisted by my own petard...
SE-14r and a Concussion Grenade, there's a far more interesting dual wielding/two weapon combat combo imo.......
