I am a big fan of the Following TIE Swarm:

Howlrunner w/Stealth Device
Backstabber
Obsidian Squadron Pilot x2

Academy Pilot x3

This list comes in at 99 points, usually giving you some pull with initiative. Also, with the 3 PS1 Academies you get the opportunity to do some good blocking and secure they bump where you want them to.

Backstabber runs the flank, as he should and usually gets some juicy shots turn 2-3

I put the stealth device on Howl just to 'try' to keep her alive, but more often then not she'll be one of the first to go, so make sure to maximize her ability before she dies.

Has anyone tried a modified version of the howrunner/scimitar list:

Howlrunner w/ Swarm Tactics
Scimitar Squadron Pilot x 4

Backstabber

I wonder if backstabber could open up some more interesting threat opportunities. Backstabber might increase the tactics/damage output during the early game compared to another bomber. In a timed tournament event, having a flanker to force decisions and increase damage output could be successfully leveraged for impressive rewards.

Thoughts?

It's a tough steak to chew through, for sure.

The only problem is that howlrunner will always go down quick. No reason not to target her first...
