No Matt, let's not lie. Clearly you were directly attacking Team Foxhound because they're the center of the universe. God, you are such a **** sometimes. I don't know why I put up with your attitude.

I dunno who ya are but I had a good laugh on that one.
Anyways Tuesday buddy my advice:
Expect the unexpected. Last year at Worlds Danny Fung (who right? Heh a good bud of mine) got in top 8 with RYU! Yes there will be the cookie cutter twink decks (translation, anything Evil/Order), as well as a good chunk of Good and Air decks. Pack anti Spike, and just anti damage pump if possible (I'm SERIOUSLY considoring a good/earth turtle deck).
Oh by the way, will you be renting a car, or relying on public transit? If it's public transit and depending if I'm working or not... AND you want to get some deck testing in on the Thursday, I can meet you at Union Station (the GIANT transportation hub in downtown Toronto) and make sure ya don't get lost.
Oh... One more thing. Do I need my girlfriend (who's from England) as a translator? Not trying to sound insulting or anything (HONEST) but I'm not gonna lie, if yer from Yorkshire or Liverpool I'll have a helluva time understanding ya <3
Cheers buddy
and here was little me thinkin that this topic would be my super secret held with the people from over the pond knowing nothing about it. guess i was wrong.
i will be using puplic transport to get around so it would be cool to meet up as long as its ok with u. i always expect the unexpected but if someone does a real hadoken agaisnt me i quit
.
oh and our accents are brilliliant everyone understands proper english
Hey Tuesday, send me an email and we'll see if we can get some testing done before the event. Do you mind if I ask when you are arriving? I know there is a place in toronto called 401 games and they play on wednesday, I don't mind meeting up with you there if you wish.
Shajir

i have sent u an email sir
Ok I get my schedual next week so I'll let ya know if I can meet ya Thursday. If not, it's VERY easy to get to Union and I'm sure someone (potentially sjahir) can meet up with ya in the Shwa to get you to World's

I'm pretty insignificant. I'm not cool enough to roll with the big boys of UFS like the afforementioned team, but a boy can dream *sigh*.

Technically 4 if you count teams as well
Heh wasn't meant as an insult buddy, but having not really perused the UK boards before then the only two British folk I knew of were Tuesday and Hewitt before now. And nobody is a "big boy" of UfS. We're a buncha card players, some with bigger egoes then others.
Haha. I'm not insulted. All of that sarcastic banter was aimed at Sir what's-his-face (Shajir? Scrolling up (down) is hard work.). I find it very hard to take playing with pieces of shiny cardboard seriously, so it makes me laugh when people get really riled up over things of arguably little meaning like some slightly mistated top 8 results to random tournaments.
Unfortunately boss, some people do think they're big boys and that having a giant ego due to that logic it is perfectly justified. While luck, skill and psychology can all play a part in card games, in reality, a lot of UFS games come down to who has a bigger card pool to choose from, for whatever reason. Just because someone wins a couple of tournaments somewhere doesn't necessarily mean they're any better than anyone else at the game, which is why I couldn't really care less whether anyone recognises who I am on here or not. I used to laugh at people when they asked me for a signature on Pigeon Games because I felt ridiculous. I played for fun, not for some weird pseudo-fame.
All that said, some people will tell you that I have the biggest ego they've ever experienced, so you might want to take what I say with a pinch of salt. Sorry for further derailing the thread, but I'm just going to say that it's Steve's fault.
dammit people i keep seeing new messages.
maybe one day one of them will be help
only kidding

Yes.
- Ross Graham,UFS UK Team Nationals Champion, Football Resurrection UK Champion, Dark Millenium UK Champion..... if that counts : P
Mark, you're a good player. Just be sensible in the deck you take and have some knowledge of the decks that the other good people are playing and you'll be fine I'm sure.
Yeah keep in mind Mark, ya can come up to World's Collide on the Thursday if you like and deck test against some of us crazy canucks.
I haven't posted on this since I don't know a thing about the Canadian meta, but it seems reasonable to me that your Akuma deck which won a Regionals would be a good choice. From what I've heard, the majority of players in the USA and Canada favour aggressive decks as opposed to the UK which has more control. Akuma is really strong against aggro as both of his abilities screw it so the main problem you face might end up being diversity : )
Akuma rocks, go for it! Also, may I suggest placing the deck in a plastic bag and sewing said bag to your belly. The last thing you want to do is get over to Canada and your deck has been sent to Guatalampor with the rest of your baggage! Plus it also keeps the deck fresh, a must when avoiding Stinky Deck Sydrome (or SDS for the afflicted in the know!)
On Topic: You know the deck, it has won a regional, give them hell mate, its your soundest choice!
Of course, there is the fact that every colonial now knows that if they face you then it will be Akuma time...........
Just thought I'd throw that in there..........
thats true steve lol oh well guess my player skill will have to make up for the lack of a suprise hahahaha
player skill what a joke

This does raise a very serious point I learned from travelling to the US.
When I went, I carried all of my decks for the weekend in my hand luggage. The reason being that if something did happen to my suitcase, at least the decks that I am taking over to actually play UFS with are safe (and thus not eliminating the point of my actually going to the US (to play UFS) should my suitcase be lost in transit).
In hand luggage, cards WILL set off metal detectors, due to the foiling on the cards and deck backers. But security guards are on the whole fantastic and just talk to them; just know for certain that your cards will trigger the scanner.
I also specified "ccg cards" on my travel insurance as an individual item. At the time of worlds, when I was taking over multiple playsets of BRT, Addes, Broken Leg, TYPFG, Owlface and others, I went with the top-end value to preven any argument should something happen.
Hope all of this is useful to you.

I have to second this.
As a Canadian who has flown between places in Canada, as well as Canada/US I can assure you that card tins in your carry-on luggage will set off the security guards. Expect to have each tin searched, and have to proclaim that you're a geek.
Just as an FYI, the last time I flow out of Pearson (Toronto) wearing my Kilt, the dirty old airport security guard decided to cop a feel of my dangly bits, so if you're like some of the guys I know from the UK who like to travel in Kilt, you've been warned.

Edited for correctness. Most American customs/security agents are jerks.

This is way off topic, but I've found that the American customs folks when flying as a whole are better to deal with then the Canadian. Then again, I fly out of Winnipeg... as a whole our Airport Security folks are jerks. There are reasons why various musical groups will not fly into Winnipeg.
