You Just Won a Ship at "Assault on Imdaar Alpha"!!

By Deadshane, in X-Wing

I had a chance to win all four last night. One of the plebs at the local store had accidentally put them all out for sale and it was lucky that I walked in, spotted them and then alerted them to the mistake.

People would have been pissed this weekend if those ships were sold, and of course if you were a less than honorable guy and purchased them some of that anger would probably have been directed at you
The more annoying thing is that they still haven't got their act together and announced the tournament or have any details about it. Every time I go in and ask them about it, no one knows anything.
Send a notice to FFG. These tourneys are supposed to be promotion. If a dealer is not following through on that, they need to know so they can ensure prize kits will go to stores that will actually run the event.

Will see what happens. The distributor has stuffed a lot of stores around and they only got their kits this week/late last week. So several events in Australia are being delayed by one week simply because there isn't time to promote/have them not clash with other events the store had planned/etc. Hopefully it will be a good result in the end.

I took 4th at my first local tournament I found it funny that the ships were selected according to what my preferences were lol

E-wing

Defender

Phantom

Z-95 (I got this one)

What ship do you choose? Which is the best one to take, and why?

There no option for "Disneyland!"

The one which can be exchanged for the most Bacon.

Z-95 as my top choice, even though I tend to play Imperial.

Why? I just don't like the others. They break my SWU.

It's all good, though. I'm going, but I don't plan to win jack.

I picked up the Phantom with my second pick.

Order of choice was

Z-95

Phantom

Defender

E-wing

Had first choice last night and took the Phantom. Ewing went 2nd, Defender 3rd and 4th got the Z-95. Kinda funny as everyone said they got their first choice.

Will give it another go today and tomorrow.

Knowing my local store and the amount of X-Wing players we have that are likely to show up, I'd actually defer the choice (if possible0 to where I chose last. Mainly because I have plans, right after the finish of the event, to bump my pre-order with Miniature Market up to where I have 12 of every ship pre-ordered, except the one I get...only 11 for it.

Based on what's out for it and everything? TIE Defender. Predator is absolutely delicious looking.

11 Phantoms on pre order? WHHHHY?

Because, simply put, I plan on getting a squadron's worth (12) of every product. Even large bases and epic ships

Well, I wound up with first choice and I got the Defender. Probably b/c it's the most flashy in a combination of looks and stats.

My first pick is the Z95 - because I'll use more of them that I preordered (3 each of all ships and 5 of the Z-95... need moar!)

Well if that is the case then that is just awesome that everyone got their favorites

I took the Defender. Colonel Vessery dropped Corran Horn for me in a super tight one on one dual for the Imdaar win in the last game. He white K-turned his little heart out.

Would have felt wrong taking the E-Wing ship I just gunned down as my prize. Plus the Tie Defender looks so **** cool.

Wahoo I got a Z-95!!! :D

Got a Defender really happy, I did not finish 1st and of course everybody wanted that broken Phantom! :-P

Well 2nd tournament in The RDU area is complete. The EWing went first, the Defender went 2nd, the Z-95 went 3rd and the Phantom went 4th.

I didn't do as well this tournament but did manage to pull off...4th and still get my first choice!!!!

With 2 phantoms now in the Plano case it's Whisper + Echo lists at league night on Monday.

Going for a 3rd tomorrow.

I took 2nd today and E-wing went first, I took the Defender and I think Phantom went 3rd and Z-95 last again. Our store also had an Alternate Art Wedge they were giving away that went by lottery (a D8 roll) and if the winner won a ship they could claim the ship or switch the ship for the card (and the ship would slide to 5th)

They aren't legal till they come out dude.

I came in 2nd today (first seed, lost in the final match). The winner too the Phantom, I took the E-Wing, third place too the Z-95, leaving 4th place with the Defender.

My final round list:

Knave Squadron Pilot + Fletchette Torpedoes

Lt Blount + Ion Pulse Missile + Deadeye

Blue Squadron Pilot + Adv Sensors x2

Opponent's final round list:

Bounty Hunter + HLC

Delta Squadron Pilot

Sigma Squadron Pilot + Advanced Cloaking Device

The Defender was rather resilient... one round taking Range 1 shots from all 4 of my ships (most with focus) and only losing a single shield...

Unexpectedly made the final at NYC's the Compleat Strategist tournament; walked away with the E-Wing. Very happy as it's the only ship I don't have on pre-order from MM (I tend towards the Imperials). Cheers to Johnny D. for organizing it!

Took first in Portland, OR, and took my d-bag Phantom, lol.

Lol you sir I think are the only Rebel player I have seen who did not use a Falcon in the Finals

I got second and got the Z-95. I wanted the Defender, but that went first. Phantom went third, and E-Wing was last.

Using the Falcon would have taken more work... my list for the rest of the tournament was Blue w/ adv sensors x4.

Just got back from the 3rd tourney of the weekend. Came in 2nd after a gruelling match up for the final. I should of flown a Falcon. I took rebels with ps1 A and E wings and ps 2 pair of B wings and the Z-95, he took ps1 Defender with HLC, ps6 interceptor (was red but can't remember the pilot) with PTL and then the monster Echo with FCS and the one that puts stealth up after firing. That one ship killed 4 of my ships while constantly being out of arc of everything. It was impossible to get into firing arc with a ship pointing in every direction. If we'd played to time I would have won by killing off the the Defender and Interceptor to the cost of one B and the Z-95 but the store stayed open late and we played to the bitter end. It is just stressful trying to target that thing.

Ah well I've had a weekend of 1 won tourney and a Defender, one of crushing defeat the whole day through at a bigger tourney on Sat and today 2nd and a Z-95.

Heard about one store that screwed up royal and sold off the ships cause someone didn't know they were prizes and put em on the shelves.
