Dark Curse + Stealth Device

By polmoneys, in X-Wing

in your experience how hard it is to kill Dark Curse + SD ?

what does math says?

in order to maximize it's tankines avoid R1 and take focus until Stealth is lost and so for evade all the way?

he'll be flying along with:

Doomshuttle + AdS

BH + Recon + SC

BS

TIA

Well I think the issue is that he'll just get ignored until he's the last ship probably since he's not too much more of a threat than a regular old TIE, and then the question becomes how good is his end game compared to other 19 pt options?

Someone literally just posted this like an hour ago in a topic I started. Hope it helps. http://www.xwingdice.com/

the way I play it BS is flanking and not in any firing arc so you have 3 options:

Go for the Doomshuttle @R3 which is good for me

Go for the BH with 2 Focus @R3 which is also ok

Go for Dark Curse...that's why I'm asking for more experienced players feedback

Han Solo as crew would beat Dark Curse pretty well enough, and so would Wedge.

The other option would be to simply ignore him.

Can I suggest a few things to help clean up your list? First, I think anything extra on a Doomshuttle besides Vader is a poor investment. It's a sinking ship, why heap more points on it? Second, Seismic Charges is better on high PS ships, and the Bounty Hunter is only PS3. Consider this list instead:

33 Bounty Hunter

3 Recon Specialist

21 Omicron Group Pilot

5 Gunner

4 Engine Upgrade

2 Fire-Control System

16 Backstabber

16 Dark Curse

No extra room for Stealth Device, so problem solved! If you'd really rather keep the Doomshuttle, you could always throw a pair of Shield Upgrades on the TIEs.

What I'm more afraid of are swarms (be it smart swarm tactics chained or Ties + Alpha) and dual YTs. Seismic charges work like a charm agains swarms so I think they need to stay.

Once down to 4 ships I think AdS are a cheap way of making the most out of the Doomshuttle prior to it's death. I've considered (after reading your ubernice posts and one on FFG) few shuttle settings but at the end I like Vader against Biggs, Ints and even Han. I'll try more settings (like the one you suggest) for sure as it's a really good ship for the imps.

I get that SD is losing it's love and widespread use but I was wondering if maybe on DC was allright. Thanks for your input @Sable!

Edit: hhaha @wonder I missread your username, sorry

& Han + Marksmanship, Krassis + HLC ...

Backstabber> Dark Curse 95% of the time. He gets more offense and will draw more fire.

Hull Upgrade is also a perfectly viable choice in place of Stealth Device. If you wanted to get really tanky, pair Dark Curse with Scimitar Squadron Pilot + Hull Upgrade.

Edit: 1,000 likes, a new milestone.
