The Game Master Screen. Worthwhile?

By wonderkrisp, in Game Masters

Good day!

I've played the old (relatively) WotC game quite a bit, and just recently took the plunge and bought the Edge of the Empire Core Rulebook.

I'm still reading through the book, but I have a quick question.

I see that there's a Game Master screen that's for sale, and I'm curious if you think it's a worthwhile investment. It sounds like it comes with a campaign (which I'm not interested in... would rather write my own), and the screen itself has a "cheat sheet" for the GM.

Seems to me that I could compile my own cheat sheet pretty easily, but wanted to get some input if there was any value in purchasing the screen.

Thanks!

The main benefits of the GM Kit is the awesome quality & art (seriously, the thing is the quality of a really nice board game board), the adventure, and then a short bit in the back about how to develop Nemesis NPCs in various ways via XP and other methods. And the Age of Rebellion one will have a section for squadrons and formation flying.

I quite like it, and will be picking up the Age of Rebellion one as well. In the end though, it is just a screen to hide story notes and give you a quick reference guide.

It has plenty of handy charts to save you some book flipping during the heat of adventure. As said, the quality of the screen is top notch so it should hold up for as long you're playing Edge of the Empire. Besides the nice consolidation of charts you get an adventure (good for a night's session) and some suggestions for nemesis NPCs that really isn't a game changer.

Thanks for the advice. I had a 20% coupon at B&N, so I picked it up...

Have to agree. The quality of the screen is pretty top notch, and the info is handy.

Thanks!
