List Build Opinions

Hey guys. I'm getting ready for Imdaar Alpha this weekend and am having trouble nailing down my squad. I'm torn between:

Green Squadron A-Wing with PTL and Assault Missiles x2

Blue Squadron B-Wing with FCS x2

or

Blue Squadron B-Wing with FCS x2

Rookie Pilot X-Wing x2

(6 points free for upgrades)

or (if I can squeeze out the cash for another B and find one locally...)

Blue Squadron B-Wing x3

Protoyped A-Wing x2

The first two lists I can do without having to invest anymore, so they'd be preferable. Just wanted to get thoughts from people that have a bit more experience in the field than I do.

BBXX is a solid list, regardless of how you purchase upgrades.

(Also, your math is very wrong with your BBXX list. You've got 10 points for upgrades, not 6)

My personal favorite is 2 Blues with Adv. Sensors, and 2 Rookies with Engine Upgrades, and make us fight in an Asteroid Field.

My second favorite is as above, but give the Rookies a Hull Upgrade and an R5 Astromech, so they'll be tanky little s***s.

My third favorite is 2 Daggers with FCS and 2 Reds with a 1 point astromech of your choice, each.

The traditional "Bloody Daggers" has 2 Daggers with Advanced Sensors, and 2 naked Reds.

I've also seen great ones with Biggs as one of the two Xs.

I don't have any Advanced Sensors available to me, as I'm a good bit behind on my purchases. I also don't think I have hull upgrades. I was liking the idea of the As because I've never seen anyone play them, so I thought they might be a sort of wild card that people were unprepared to handle.

No hull upgrades mean no Opportunisting either, which was my next suggestion

(2 Blues + Sensor Jammer + 2 Greens + Opportunist=98 points)

On the other hand, your ABBA fleet has some really strong match-ups. 2 A-Wings with Assault Missiles really hurt Swarm fleets, and 2 B-Wings with FCS really hurt fleets with low numbers of very survivable ships. I'm just worried that tying down the two extremes leaves you vulnerable to the fleets in the middle. I've not played against anything like it, so if you practice well with it, you'll definitely have the element of surprise on your side.

Ok. Thanks for the advice. Wish I could get my hands on 2 more HLC. I'd run 3 Bs with FCS/HLC

Advanced Sensors is the bomb. =)

This seems like a slightly awkward list since the Greens fire before the Blues which means the Blues wont be knocking off any tokens that may exist. Seems like replacing the Blues with Daggers and then changing the Sensor Jammers to Adv Sensors or FCSs would make more sense.

I phrased it that way because Daggers + Sensor Jammers would have made the list 102.

I know what I'M doing after Chaardan Refit :D
