If you assign multiple face down damage cards to the splash damage recipients, then can you turn those face up with your focus token as well?
Rexlor Brath: Assault Missile User Extraordinaire?

I'm leaning towards no, because it is not the attack that deals the (splash) damage card(s), it is the effect of the Assault Missile.
It still semi-qualifies for "after you perform an attack" though. Hmm.
Edited by KeffischThe splash damage isn't dealt to the defender and therefore isn't subject to Brath's ability.
Unfortunately, no. His ability doesn't work on the splash damage. Here's why:

Rexler Brath's text precludes this splash damage being converted due to how it is worded.
The key phrases here are 'to the defender' and 'those cards'. Now, if your assault missile hits, you can flip the cards on the actual target of your attack, but those other targets are not impacted by the text of his card.
Nice try. I suggest you consider PTL and either Homing Missiles or HLC. This way you can get TL and Focus on a 4 dice attack, use the TL to change the dice and focus to crit them into oblivion.
Aw man, i forgot about that "to the defender" bit. Boo. Still, that would have been mega awesome though. (Though I can't help but feel that if this ability had been on a rebel card they'd have let it work…)
Assault missiles and this guy vs big ships?! Surely that would be awesome!
Jonus would like to say he's very fond of Rexler's big ole HLC.

I've been testing out the Delta + HLC and Rexler, and honestly, even with the TL, I feel like I just want to focus to get the dice to hit most of the time, and his ability feels more like a chance use that you didn't roll any eyeballs.
Like how people use the focus recovering shield droid.
Mostly, on Rexler, I've just wanted to deal more damage.
Also, PTL on a defender is kinda iffy for me, since the only greens are straight...

Agreed. The Defender wants Adrenaline Rush most of the time. Their dial is the best in the game when you can Whitewash the Reds. They're the only ship in the game with all 12 Turn/Bank options, it's just 2/3 of their turns are red.
Yup. That's what I feel too.
Want to know where a Defender will be? Draw a line in front of it.
Seriously, I feel the Rebels get way more exciting synergy options. The whole astromech series (the one i'd want here is the one that makes all the 1s and 2s green). all of the rebel only crew. arguably better/more relevant pilot abilities in a group.
Seriously, don't the imperials use astromechs too? They're seen on the Death Star, and also there are all of those access ports in the Death Star for droids too.
What about Rexler + Predator?
You get 1 (or 2) re-rolls, so less likely to use the focus token, increasing your chances to have it for critical damage.
Also (if I'm not mistaken), cool thing with Rexler, his ability allows him to deal crits, ignoring card effects like :
- Chewbacca pilot (When you are dealt a faceup Damage card...)
- Chewbacca crew - well, you'd have to choose to use him before knowing what the crit is (When you are dealt a Damage card...)
- Draw Their Fire (...you may suffer 1 of the uncanceled Critical Hit results...)
- Determination (When you are dealt a faceup Damage card with...)
- Anything else that mentions "when dealt a faceup damage card"
...since he doesn't "deal a faceup damage card", he deals a facedown damage card and flips it after the fact.

Sorry I meant Advance proton torps but actually he can't take em :-/

I'll be using Outmaneuver, so that for some ships they won't even get any rolls at all. For instance, the much-vaunted C-3PO won't work because his ability only works if you get to roll dice. And bonus, he's also the only ship that can deal criticals with an Ion Cannon (which is how i plan to use him).
Step 1: Ion cannon. Best against a low agility ship. If i focus and roll at least two hit results, then it goes through no matter what. use focus token to flip the damage, if it didn't go to shields.
step 2: white k-turn behind ionized ship. Move other squadmates to cover me if i think the enemy is gunning for where i'll be ending up.
Step 3: Light the chump up. I see this working like magic against y-wings. If i have a target lock from previous rounds, this is what i was saving it for. Focus, and then watch the light show.
He'd also work wonders flying another low PS Defender or a high PS interceptor as wingman behind a Huge ship. Make sure there are enough threats so that he can't just screw me over with his actions, and keep using ion cannons to sap its energy to limit its options further (this is, after all, the first Imperial small craft to get a cannon option. The were practically made to take on Huge ships). get into that sweet spot (that 1 bank works like magic for this i have found) and light the thing up with every critical hit i can muster. Eat your heart out, Maarek Stele. This is what you should have been.

Black Squadron TIE + Wingman = problem solved.

Also, if you have to field a Wingman for every defender... Do you yourself the math...
Rexhlar is a Y-wing, Falcon, and Huge ship killer. I like him. Add in an Ion Cannon, and he will be a very interesting and annoying part of an Imperial squad.
Well, not entirely solved, since the defender still loses its action. Wingman clears stress, but at the start of the combat phase. So no actions for the poor turning defender.

Only intend to field 1. And the ship does have the best small craft stats in the game. And it's the only ship in the game that can kio even though it's stressed. It can also Ion people and then come around them, AND take an action. But even at a low to middle PS and naked, it will be a nice supporting fire ship. Something you don't have to think too much about (but your opponent does) and that can take two beatings and spit them back. Plus, as to my knowledge, we haven't seen the higher PS generic. It may have an EPT (man I hope it has an EPT).
Besides, I know this runs against the grain in some ways but from very early on I got sick of swarms, so running 4 or even 3 ship Imperial lists is fine for me. I'm completely fine with a great high PS Defender, a Wingman, and someone else to round it all out.
I'll be getting 2, on the hopes that I can make viable lists with 2. Really wish this could have been a viable three-ship unit but PS1 is pushing it, and there's not a lot of points for upgrades.
Oh, I've got some 2 Defender lists I'd like to try, but chances are the only games that will be seeing both named guys will be epic lists. Too bad I can't give one of them FCS.
