VC-100 Deckplans / Stats (aka "Ghost" from Rebels)

By Sturn, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

They have a 3d model. that is probably complete. They could probably do a fly through.

This one is pretty good. but not quite right.

It's worth mentioning that that's a stock VCX-100, not an attempt at the "Ghost" specifically (note that I don't include a shuttle attachment). Trying to exactly match a specific ship (especially at a time where there's basically no information) is an exercise in futility and just leads to pedantic debate. It's been 40 years, and people still argue about the dimensions and layout of the Falcon .

And you missed the point. My post was about looking at what other people have done which might fuel better deckplans

Has anyone statted out the Phantom or a stock version of that shuttle yet?

[edit] For the hell of it:

Vehicle Type/Model: Corellian Light Shuttle
Manufacturer: Corellian Engineering Corporation
Silhouette/speed/handling: 3/2/+1
Def: 0/-/-/0
Armor: 1
HT: 4
SS: 5
Hyperdrive: None
Navicomputer: No
Sensor Range: Close
Ship's Complement: One pilot
Encumbrance Capacity: 4
Passenger Capacity: 0
Consumables: One day
Cost/Rarity: 10000 credits/5
Customization Hard Points: 2
Weapons: None
I can't remember if I've seen the shuttle go into hypserspace in one of the trailers or not, but I left it off for now. Launching the shuttle during a battle and then trying to get the pilot to dock in time when bigger baddies show up could result in some fun BSG-esque moments.
[edit] Bumped the silhouette up to 3 so it can actually mount the laser cannons it's supposed to according to wookiepedia and the Rebels Visual guide. I feel like it should at least have as much HT as a damned coneship, but it's so tiny that I have a hard time justifying it being tougher than a landpeeder.

The "3d model" (available in an upcoming DVD) may just be of the outside of the ship? If it includes the inside then it looks like we will have our questions answered around October 14th.

I think you're placing too much faith in artists sticking to a set description. I've seen far too many examples where what is shown from the outside doesn't match with the inside.

Well when one does 3d modelling they tend not to rebuild the model and since they can actually build the entire thing and because they can actually shoot through the walls with the virtual camera.

Oh and it is much easier to make sure the inside fits the outside.

I do 3D modeling. You don't tend to build the inside details for a version of the ship that will only show the outside as those polygons can make for higher render times.

You build up multiple models, like a low poly distant shot version, a high poly close up version, etc... and build the interior in another layout. And even then might only build what is needed for the upcoming shot(s), like "generic hallway A", or the "Breakroom setup C". That's how you end up with oddities like "If A existed in episode 503, then why didn't they use it back in episode 106 to fix the same/similar issue"...

Who said anything about using the interior inside the model you are using for outside renders? I said it is easier make sure everything fits. You would not actually render it that way.

So, you’re saying that they need to Sternbach these problems? ;-)

So now I have seen the first episode. the ladder on the Starboard side of the cockpit goes to the first deck by the loading ramp. We don't know how to get in the nose guns. 4 doors between the cockpit and the dorsal gunner are for crew quarters. Looks like you get to the nose gun from the ladder from the boarding ramp to the cockpit. halfway up you can step off it and onto a platform that spans the boarding ramp and leads to a short hallway and step up some steps into the nose gunner area.

Kanan's room is the first door on the port side behind the cockpit. there are 2 bunks in Kanan's room.

Don't know if it was mentioned but the release of Spark of Rebellion on DVD also contains a 3D model of the ship. Haven't seen it myself but it may prove helpful for modeling the ship.

Did you guys get the fact that there is a 2ndary ship that flies out the back where the tail gun is?? AWESOME!!

Yes. The Phantom.

been known for a while. LEGO even had the two sets out before the show ever aired.

Are there going to be official stats on both of those ships??

Perhaps?

Anybody that know as signed an NDA preventing them from saying so, and the FFG staff don't post on these forums.

That said, I'd be surprised if the VCX-100 doesn't eventually get a proper write-up. Could be the Smuggler career sourcebook, could be an Age of Rebellion supplement, could even be in a Force and Destiny supplement.

Given that FFG also plays with its cards held very close to the vest in terms of future releases (we still have no idea what's coming after the Hutt sourcebook or Stay on Target), we won't know what book the VCX-100 is in until said book hits store shelves.

Deckplans and game stats for a stock version of the Ghost. I did my best to research anything I could get ahold of (see this thread ), but I'm sure there will be changes once the Rebels series is released.
