List Options

Got a tourney in 3 weeks time with very little flying time in hand, I've got a couple of list ideas and was hoping for a few suggestions as I doubt I'll get a lot of time to try things out.

First up Rebels. I like the idea of different ships so was thinking something like

Dutch - pro torp/pro torp/Ion turret

Biggs - shield up/R2-D2

Dagger - HLC

Biggs does his thing while Dutch hands out TL to the Dagger and uses them to fire torpedoes.

I tried it in a couple of game the other day and it was ok. It feels like it could work if my flying was better so I swapped out one set of torpedoes for an R2 on Dutch and Adv Sen on the B-wing.

The other consideration is swapping the B-wing for Garven for the TL/Focus thang or Wedge for some hard hitting.

For the Imperials it's big ships for the tanking. Something like

OGP - Merc Co/Merc Co/HLC/Adv Sen/Eng Up

Jonus - Swarm Tac/Assault Missiles

Backstabber - Stealth

Obsidian

Or

Krassis - HLC/Merc Co/Seismic

OGP - Merc Co/HLC/Adv Sen/Eng Up

Backstabber - Stealth

Here it's nothing fancy with tough ships hopefully dealing out lots of damage. Options either give two targets with the two large ships or try and buff one with Jonus. Haven't flown either of these fleets at all yet.

As I'm real short on flying time I'm half tempted to just run two Ys and two Xs and practice flying!

With your Rebels, a Proton Torpedo is just about maximum point inefficiency. It costs you your action, and your attack, for a one-time use.

Of course, giving R2-D2 and a Shield to Biggs is worse. They suffer most from concentrated-fire, and Biggs forces your opponent to concenctrate fire on him.

With your first imperial list, Jonus doesn't apply his ability to himself, and Howlrunner doesn't apply to HLC. Both prefer having several targets.

With Dutch TLing to give the TL out I figure Proton Torpedoes are ok on him as he'll be target locked anyway. I see what you're saying with Biggs but I figure the longer he can take the heat the better, maybe experience will show otherwise.

Obviously the more use you can get out of buffs the more effective they are. Jonus is there to add more damage output to the shuttle and up it's PS in the combat phase as that's where the main damage is coming from.

Thanks for the input.
