Rebel transport Reinforce vs token question

By SpaceagentSpiff, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi all

Have got my Transport, but not yet played it. Building a empire squad I got to be uncertain about the use of Homing missiles against the transports. The homing missiles state: "The defender cannot spend evade tokens during this attack", but is Reinforce the same as a evadetoken in this instance?

Put in another way:

If the transport has used Reinforce (which acts like an Evade) can or cant the Reinforce be used against the homing missile?

Thanks

Although the effects are similar, the reinforce action is not the same as the evade action, and their tokens are not related to each other.

Reinforce applies normally against homing missiles because the huge ship is not spending any evade tokens. He is simply adding an evade result to its defense roll through other means (reinforcing).

Probably also worth noting that the reinforce token is not "spent", it stays on the ship until the end of the round, regardless of the number of times it gets attacked.

Thanks. I was expecting that that was the way to look at it, but thanks for the clarification.
