Imperial Build Help

By ImABird, in X-Wing

Hey guys was just looking to get some input on this build Ive been tinkering with for a bit.

Darth Vader 29

with engine upgrade 4

and squad leader 2

Turr Phennir 25

with push the limit 3

Royal Guard Pilot 22

with push the limit 3

Acadamy Pilot 12

The way ive been running it is Vader comes up the rear handing off his second action to anyone who needs it. The 2 interceptors try to be as annoying as possible with flanking and evade and the academy pilot does what ever it can. Any suggestion ?

I'd suggest dropping Vader. Entirely.
He's 1 point shy of costing 3 Tie Fighters. He costs more than a Firespray-31. He's just... not worth his points.

If either interceptor pushes the limit, Vader can't pass his action to them since they'll be stressed. A lowly academy tie isn't the best way to pass that off. I'd take squad leader off Vader. You can consider TC on either interceptor for a little extra punch when they can't be shot

If either interceptor pushes the limit, Vader can't pass his action to them since they'll be stressed.

To be fair, the Interceptor can PTL off of the Free Action from Squad Leader, instead of during their normal action step, if they wish.

Hell: Turr Phennir wants to PTL off of his own Free Action in the Combat phase, and shouldn't be stressed at all during the activation phase.

Looking over the play of your build, I agree with Dracon. Vader should probably go. But if you're set on keeping him look over these two builds.

Thanks for the points guys i realy appreciate it. You guys a right vader is very point hungry. It was just when i put him in i was so set on it being a great idea i didnt looks at how expensive he was. The interceptors a my personal favorite anyway. I love how they fly and with push the limit end up almost anyway you want them to be.
