Limited Acrylics

So my questions is why that FFG hasn't yet gotten into acrylics for its games? There is an obvious demand for the products. They already have a approved supplier with Dapper Devil who they have used for the movement templates for last year and this years prize support(they had these up for viewing at their Gamma booth).

The prices for the tokens have only gone up and up on the secondary market. Prime example look at the regional prize support for this year. The new evades going for any where from $200 dollars the first few weeks to down to $100, but still for way more than enough to cover the cost of set up and production.

Don't get me wrong I love the prize support they provide and the bragging rights from having the tokens. I've found I don't even play with them due to the generated value they have and their tendency to be accidentally borrowed during games.

You've answered your own question right there. They are small trophies for your victories on the battle field. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind if they sell these items. I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I have been lucky enough to win all the tokens I need so far (100s of dollars worth based on eBay prices). But, I still agree it would be great if FFG would also sell them. We could get something we want, they could make more money off of the game... seems like a win-win. I don't really consider them bragging rights at this point since so many people buy or trade for them. I just think they look cool and wish everyone had access.

sure it would gain them some instant money. But think of this, their league kits would loose a lot of value then. Then if less stores are interested in league kits, they promote the game less.

The acrylics and the promo cards in the league kits help fuel the competitive nature of this game. Thankfully i have been playing long enough, and well enough, to not have to buy any of my acrylics. (except the target locks, i had a good friend) So when i set these things out, to me they are my personal trophies not to intimidate my opponent, or give some edge. I like having them because they remind me i won, and i can win again.

Do you think they'll go back to some of the older acryllics as prizes such as the tl's and focus?

I'm surprised somebody isn't making better movement dials, it doesn't take long for the cardboard ones to start looking beat up. As for tokens and the movement rulers, I've just bought an excellent set from CogOtwo, really good price for a nice set, lots of different colours, Empier, Rebels etc

That I can see as new players join in it gives them the chance to own them without draining the piggy bank.
