Corvette and Transport
Maybe I missed it but are these ships to the same scale as the starships. Because the bridge on the Transport looks like 1 dude might fit in it compared to an x-wing.
No they aren't, that would still make them too big. The scale is more to 1/400 if I'm not mistaken.
I think the huge ships are at 1/500, while normal and large are at 1/270.
Anyone know for sure? Exact size?
Edited by Wookie HunterI don't think they have said an exact scale, just "around half the size of their 1/270 scale version".
I think it was mentioned in some of the articles.
According to Wookieepedia stats, a Falcon should be roughly 1/3rd the size of the transport, not double that. Did you get your Corvette yet? I'll be bringing mine to GMI on Sunday.
Edited by WonderWAAAGHI dont have it yet. I dont know if they even have any more.
I like to think it is just 1 guy up there piloting it. They are basically space semi's anyway.
According to yesterday's Tantive IV article:
Back when we first displayed our prototype CR90 miniature at Gen Con Indy 2013, we also announced that the Tantive IV , along with the GR-75 medium transport, would be released outside of the game’s standard 1/270 scale. Because this iconic starship is simply too big to function in the game at that scale, we were left with two options. We could work with a new scale, or we could leave this iconic starship out of the game.
In the end, we decided the Tantive IV was simply too iconic and exciting to ignore, and we invented a new “relative” scale, carefully balancing the ship's playability against its presence on the table.
The Transport and Corvette are around 9" and 12" respectively, while their intended lengths are listed as 90m and 150m officially (though I've seen estimates of the transport put it a bit larger). This would make them respectively 1/400 and 1/500 scale if my math is still holding up.
I'm kind of glad they decided to tool around with the scale. It gives me hope that the Rogue Shadow will be released as a large ship, not a huge one.
I measured my cr-90 at close to 330mm in length. That would make the scale about 1/455 if it is supposed to model a 150m ship.
So thats why the huge ships absolutely smear smaller ships. I thought that was kinda odd compared to the actual size the ships take up..
Even smearing a lambda or firespray is kinda absurd especially since the falcon isnt miniscule even compared to the nebulon B frigate.
