Do Dad's Make a good GM?

By NewbieWan, in Game Masters

So I have just bought the beginner game and this thread made me sign up and jump on this forum:) I have 5 little jawas and we game on the regular, mostly x wing and mantics deadzone, but as a youngster I remember playing adnd dragonlance with a big cuzzy and thouht id introduce my younglings to role playing. The beginner game is awesome, it took four sessions to get through it, (my youngest player is 4 and she loves lowhhrick) but seeing their little minds tick over trying to figure out clever ways to score the hypermatter reactor igniter or talk the docking clamps off of the krayyt fang made me happier than I think I have ever been in my 20+ years of gaming. I had to push them in the right direction sometimes but all in al it was laid out enough for them to find their own way to escaping mos shuuta, and it made them all work together as team. I really do think that after our weekend of gaming that dads really do make good gms:) Next week we will start on the long arm of the hutt, and ill either score age of rebellion beginner game or the edge of the empire core rule book so we can make our own chsracters up. By the way, thanks for the idea of implementing their school work into the game, ill try that this weekend!

kind regards
