FFG is probably the best gaming company I know. They're a great group of folks, who care about putting out quality games.

I was skeptical of X-wing when I heard about it. As a fan of the computer simulators, I didn't want anything with that title that wasn't just as good and fun to play. And thankfully, XWMG did NOT disappoint! If anything, it surpassed my wildest expectations, and I was thrilled to play it. I played it every night for a while, and even now it's my all-time favorite game.

Games Workshop is like that ex-girlfriend you used to really care about but had to break up with because she was demanding, irrational, unbalanced and slightly crazy.

You still care for her and wish that things get better - but until then you know that for your own health you need to stay away.

(and on that note apparently they have some gold plated, diamond encrusted, written with the blood of angels release this weekend or something? Or at least that's what I'm assuming, given the prices I've been seeing).

This is weird, though. Like so many of you, I used to date GW for years.

Mostly we went to this cheap place called Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, and after a while we went to Fantasy Battles, and she took me to W40K as well. But, man, I just don't have the money for that kind of night life anymore. I just wanted to go back to WFRP for ol' times' sake, but GW was thoroughly done with that place. So I took her cousins (Hogshead and Black Industries) there instead. Sadly, neither or them want to go there anymore, and when FFG said she wanted to go, I saw that the place had just gotten WAAAYYY too pricy.

You know how they say us nerds over think things...

I still play The Lord of the Rings SBG because it is still a great game. But I have only bought like 75 dollars in minis from them but have 5 large armies all from 3rd or second party places and never pay at retail price. But they seem to be quiting the entire game and have stupid policys. But I love X-Wing and lotR SBG about the same although they are completly different.
