Sorry for another one of these posts. I know the typical answer will be get what you want, or as many as you're willing to spend on. But that's the thing, I'm not sure. I currently have one of each expansion except for wave 4 and the rebel transport.

My budget is to get two small ships or one large one, and I'm torn as to what to get, especially with wave 4 looming around the corner.

I play both sides (I'm the ship supplier for friends and family) so I was thinking of going for A-wing and another interceptor (or another imperial aces but will take me out of budget). Reasoning was with rebel aces, A-wings I think will have much more viability in large number in the upcoming meta than 2+ B's. So with the rebel release, I'll have 3 a's and 2 b's which I think would be good. At the same time B wings are so good, it's hard not to get another right now. And if I am going to plan for wave 4, another Y wing might be more usable with it's turrets for the phantoms.

With the interceptor, the current meta favors multi interceptor squads, but I'm worried the Phantom will power creep them out or at least make it so I won't ever run more than 3 (which I currently have). Maybe grab another bomber instead?

Then there's the rebel transport. Those pilots and droids look sooo good, but I don't think I'd actually play with the transport itself, so is the $$ worth the investment for just the cards? Not sure.

I rarely ever use both of my A-wings at one time, I would suggest another interceptor and a b-wing. Of the 2 sides I probably use multiples of those ships the most.

I don't think the phantoms is going to power creep the interceptor, it is much cheaper than the phantom, and has a constant 3 attack 3 agility instead of 2agility-4attack/4agility-0attack. You can get Soontir Fel for 2 points more than the base Phantom...

Buy 29 tie advanced!!!! Better yet just keep your eyes open for good deals....

Are you looking for mostly just Rebel stuff? If so you might want to wait until Wave 4 comes out and get 2 Z-95's. That will add a lot of options to your lists.

I don't think the Phantom will do anything to remove Interceptors from the game. They're just to expensive to replace Interceptors.

Cptnhalfbeard I agree with the current meta, but with Chardaan refit A wings will cost 2 less, tack that on with A-Wing test pilot that gives awings veteran pilot skills, you get a beefy flanker for dirt cheap.... I can't see how this wont be big in the new wave.

Plus interceptors have reliable durability whereas the phantom spikes up and down.

Yeah, I don't really see interceptors as being too durable, both will pretty much crumble if placed in a bad spot, the phantom will just have crazy amounts of options to get out of the opponent's arc.

So it seems like most people are saying B-wing and interceptor. I'm leaning towards B-wing and Bomber now, I think....

If this is money you want to spend now, and then will have more money in June/July... My advice would be to buy a B-wing and another Interceptor.

Personally, if you don't "need" new ships now (need is a funny word lol maybe I should say if you have enough to play the kind of games you want to be playing) I would save your money and add it to your Wave 4 budget. The Rebel Aces will be a great pick up in July, and in June you'll want at least one of each of the new Wave 4 ships.

Wow, So B wing and interceptor it is, did not realize how much people like interceptors now =P Yeah, I still plan on getting one of each wave 4 ship, this was more for of things to spend now to round out what I have. Thanks!

Everyone likes interceptors because they're insanely fun to fly, they're fairly powerful and the opponent can counter them if they fly well. tournament viability is only partially relevelant.

yeah I know I was just making a joke. I rather like Int's myself, but you have to keep in mind the glass part when flying them.
