Corvette in Hand!!!

By bzinfinity, in X-Wing

My boss is still here, I'll try to open it up around lunch time and spoil the contents.

Got some pics - HOLY CRAP it's freaking huge, I'm trying to post them now.

I fear the spoiler ship has sailed! Anyways the ship is absolutely awesome...enjoy!

Nice! But everything was spoiled last week.

I'd rather have the Glock than the corvette...

Prefer S&W M&P ergo myself.

Holy crap that thing is big.

Gonna need to make some room in the plano 732 box.

None of my boxes will hold it.

I have to invent something new.

What I did, was get myself a good sized duffel bag and put my plano boxes and such in that. Has room for my 3 ring binder. The Large ships I keep in the packing they came in, and will do the same with the Huge ships.

I'd advise against keeping them in their original packaging. That plastic isn't the strongest, and I wouldn't trust a $60-80 investment to 0.010" vacuformed plastic to protect it.

The plastic for the Tantive seems especially flimsy. I have no idea how I'm going to store this thing. It's made worse by how off-balance the model is combined with the turret on the bottom.

I'd advise against keeping them in their original packaging.

I'll have to look at that when I get them latter today. The large ships plastic seems pretty good, but if the Huge ships packaging isn't as good I'll rethink it.

i must be old school...i'm pretty partial to my Colt 1911

Spoil the heck out of the CR90 for those of us who can't pick theirs up till AFTER work.

Colt, 1911 as well. It's like flinging ashtrays.

It's not that so much as it is the fact that the mass of a Huge Ship, especially one as big as the Tantive IV, is a lot more than a Large or Small scale ship, which means it has a greater amount of inertia as well. This means that any movement it makes will have a much greater impact on the now-loose plastic casing, which will weaken it and increase the chance for failure.

In addition, this kind of plastic can't withstand heavy impacts like a Plano box can, and I'm not about to risk snapped turbolasers on my corvette.

Is the ship longer than the battlefoam trays?

Springfield XDm with a Powder River Precision trigger. Han would be jealous.

Personally I've found I go down to the m&p shield.

The internal packaging plastic on my transport was broke when I received it. As others have said, be careful trusting it as protection.

Can you get me the dimensions for the plastic calm shell that it comes in?

I can see how easily it can break.

The thing is huge.

One rip in the plastic and I'd Imagine it would just split.

I'm still trying to figure how to get around with the range ruler

And some people want scale Star Destroyers . . .

Anyway, I got my CR90! :D I'm anxious to use it in battle against those Imperial oppressors!

This is not helping my willpower to hold off on buying one.
