Yeah, planing on hitting up 4 imdaar alpha tournaments in 2 days. Going to need to stock up on protein bars.... it's a shame I don't do coke.. I could use to lose a couple of pounds also.

Sit down everytime when you can is my biggest tip. No matter how short, or how crappy a chair, sit-the-f-down! Your knees and back will thank you when they are 12h in.
That and a awesome cinematic view of the battlefield.
Edited by JoostuhI read a 10 minute walk is as good as a cup of coffee.
So walk up to the coffee shop and BAM .. double hit!

So many good tips from the community.
Go with friends
If no friends can go, make some there
If it's a long drive, go the night before and stay in a Hotel.
Beyond what has already been said, I intend to bring a pack of name tags.
For me a Super Slurpee is a must. It'll likely last me half the day. Tylenol just in case you end up with a tension headache (or Advil whatever works for you). I don't necessarily agree with an above posted who said to only bring what you need. You never know if you can find a pickup game between your tournament matches.
Biggest tip I can offer is to force your gf to play. I dont know how many tournys Ive been to thinking about how much trouble I was about to be in because Im too busy playing with toys to return a text.... luckily the girl I have is willing to play and supports me.
second biggest tip, finish all your matches fast. Im typically the first one through a round and rarely have one go to time (only once at a premier event (and once at a competitive)
Third tip, dont play a swarm unless you have the mental capacity for it. Im still rather ticked about a guy who played in the last regional who ran a swarm who took forever setting the dials. (even the non combat rounds took 10 minutes) -ended up going to time and I lost by 2 points, I had 2 ships left at full health and had some of his ships near death. Youve got to be able to think fast, and after running a swarm for 4 times or more Im typically light headed
Know your list.-know it and know it well, and dont change it the night before.
Ibuprofen, aspirin, what the hell ever.- headaches happen, if you gotta go into the long haul you **** sure want to do it pain free.
For that fact alone, if you take medications, make sure you bring them.
Proper mind set. -any tournament that I am gonna play, be it magic, xwing, or even ping pong, I stick to a plan and I quit playing several days before.
The reason is this, it allows you to clear things up in your life, it clears your thinking and allows you to approach your intended game plan fresh.
Dont worry how you will do, if you are, then you should have been doing all of your worrying during practice, nows the time to just let it flow.
one should be in good physical shape as well.... its much easier to endure anything when you are in good shape!! whether its a 50 mile bike ride or a 14 hour session of X-wing!!!
Hookers and blow of course.
If you are flying Biggs in your squad, remember to grow a sweet mustache.
Snickers. They're a fantastic source of sugar (for that immediate boost) and protein (for long term energy).
Avoid heavy foods the night before (unless your stomach can handle it).
Pee yourself. It will really throw off your opponent.

Psychological warfare is great, but this version violates the above suggestion of "don't be stinky" so I can not endorse it.
