thinking about F&D beta.

Parry and Reflection. One is melee one is ranged. Suffer 3 Strain add 2 plus ranks in Talent to reduce damage prior to it being applied to soak. Out of turn incidental.

So now you don't have to flip Destiny Point and suffer strain to convert Dark Side pip when using Force?

Your Morality takes the fall.

What happens when your Morality drops to zero?

You still flip a DP. Everything is the same, you earn a Conflict point per dark pip converted.

Below a threshold you have to redeem yourself, you've fallen, there are rules.

Have to learn to read again, rechecked your post about that conversion and some how I skipped over DP usage.

where is all these "elsewhere" ? Give links =) My Google-fu sucks right now.

Nothing overtly says "Jedi", I guess.

Very interesting that all the classes are Force sensitive.

At least we've got fine Vodka here.

Let's sink our F&D sorrow with some fine Vodka and let the small crumbles of F&D knowledge slowly leak out to us poor souls.

No. Remember it is Beta, but I'm sure the CRB is going to set the time frame at the same time as EoE and AoR.

Looks like some lightsaber forms worked into the Specialization names.

Apparently these pre-date (or are independent of) the Jedi order?

I can't say that I'm thrilled about what I am hearing.

Morality is, to me, subjective - and something that can cause contention at a table. I would have to read it and see how it works, or if it even applies to muggles.

The whole consular, guardian, and sentinel is something I would like to see die in a fire.

As to careers all being force sensitive, well, I also feel that it is a lost chance ay making characters from a certain point of view - those that either have no idea they are force sensitive or who have cut themselves off. This is of course conjecture, based off of very little info.

The race selection I am happy about.

All in all, I suspect I will buy the beta but not the core release. Unless the material can win me over.

There is no fluff in Betas and trust me when I say there is less in a playtest doc.

The specs are force sensitive, but they aren't all Lightsaber swingers. Lightsaber is a skill handed out at the spec level, not the Career. There are some very non Jedi FS specs.

Mildly surprised, but probably pleased, to see the Consular/Guardian/Sentinel thing reappear.

Halfway house to actual 'Jedi', I guess, without actually using the J word. And available for any Force tradition, I'd imagine?

Ah, another mechanic I can ignore as I did with Duty and Obligation! :)

You're so special! Must be wonderful to be you :P

No need for that.

I might actually use the mechanic, if I can alter it. Light = law, Dark = chaos, for users to freely choose, but also having a 'Corruption' element for the really nasty stuff like torture or burning orphanages.

As Samophlange says, morality is subjective, and I prefer to stay away from all that.

There are some of these specs that are clearly aimed at iconic Jedi images. There are some from left field. My suggestion would be for people to approach it as if F&D had always existed and some of these specs are more like fully fleshed out Exiles and Emergents. How a FS would have integrated themselves and their powers into a post Jedi world. I'm not telling anyone to re-roll their Exiles or Emergents, I'm just saying these specs could be viewed as a Force Sensitive working things out on their own, or as a Padawan or Youngling that went into hiding. There is plenty of room to tweak backgrounds.

Whoa. 6 of the 7 lightsaber forms? I'm ecstatic! Is this confirmed?

Those are the specs.

There are Improved and Supreme versions of Parry and Reflect that deal with redirecting attacks back at attackers, as well as, lowering Strain cost to 1 if you are in purely defensive mode.

So how do the Force-Sensitive Exile & Emergent compare to these specializations?

Yep, I see it as a toolbox to reskin as you wish. 'Emergent' is an Alliance-only spec for us, the padawans trained by Ben when he left the Jedi following the Exodus.

Looks like Mystic/Consular, Warrior/Guardian and Seeker/Sentinel are the 'Jedi' and non-Jedi versions of similar classes? A bit like Trader/Entrepreneur/Quartermaster covers blue-collar/white-collar and military versions of the same class?

Anyway, thanks for the info, 2P51! It must have been stressful not being able to tell us all your secret playtester lore until today! :)
