thinking about F&D beta.

OK, the cat is out of the bag on the new mechanic in the game. It's called Morality. That's been tweeted by fans.

You will tell us more about how this mechanic works... *waves fingers*

It's pretty straight forward. Do bad stuff, earn Conflict. Add up conflict at end of evening and roll D10. If your score is below that number, your Morality decreases, if it is above, it rises. There are some other details. It really becomes a factor with using DP to convert Dark Side pips. 1 Conflict per pip converted.

Images elsewhere show the races are Cerean, Human, Kel Dor, Mirialan, Nautolan, Togruta, Twi'lek, and Zabrak.

Correct-a-mundo. Those be the races.

Ah, the long-awaited "Dark side mechanic."

Indeed.

Images elsewhere show the races are Cerean, ... Togruta, ... Zabrak.

These are the three I was hoping for, this is getting better all the time...though I hope the profiles on these are more useful than the previous non-humans they've released.

Ah, another mechanic I can ignore as I did with Duty and Obligation! :)

I am liking those races, though! Good to see some proper PC ones instead of the freaky barrel-scraping stuff they've been pushing recently.

I mean, nothing there is unexpected, but nice nonetheless....

Uh... If I were to lie incompetently and tell you that someone twitterered something something about Force ratings, could you spill the beans on how those shape up?

Are these in addition to the ones in the other books, e.g., are the other force powers re-introduced in F&D?

So now you don't have to flip Destiny Point and suffer strain to convert Dark Side pip when using Force?

Your Morality takes the fall.

What happens when your Morality drops to zero?

They're cool,

What # are they using? I'm trying everything I can think of and coming up blank.

I believe he was saying that flipping a DP to use dark pips coutns towards your session conflict total, in addition to causing strain.

Apparently I can't use the internet as well

So what about lightsabers?

You still flip a DP. Everything is the same, you earn a Conflict point per dark pip converted.

Below a threshold you have to redeem yourself, you've fallen, there are rules.

So how does one increase it? Talents burried in the trees? Is part of the design that PCs will branch out to other specs and pick up more rating there?

So what about lightsabers?

There are FR boosts like in the Exile and Emergent trees.
