thinking about F&D beta.

Lightsaber Crystals aren't the only modifications you can make to Lightsabers?

Hilts, Emitters? Just throwing these at you 2P51

There are Hilts, an emitter thingy, mostly crystals though.

Anyway, thanks for the info, 2P51! It must have been stressful not being able to tell us all your secret playtester lore until today! :)

What I want to know is - how did you land a slot in the Alpha? A large bribe to FFG? You have incriminating negatives hidden away? Sexual favors?

Mind Trick.

You said the Edge/Age sabers were tricked out. What's the base model stats?

I like to think my bubbly, almost effervescent personality, shines through in my posts................. :D

I wonder about the adversaries section and is there an equivalent version of force lighting ?

I count 13 lightsaber attachments, and no, not all of them are crystals.

You said the Edge/Age sabers were tricked out. What's the base model stats?

6/2, Enc 1, HPs 5 Breach 1, Sunder

And there's five of them :) Well, including a training lightsaber.

There's a nifty Inquisitor generating system included.....

It's part of the Protect/Unleash Force power.

Still no product announcement. Very odd. I don't quite get the marketing strategy but I am just a pirate.....

Maybe our residential Forum-Troll is happy to hear that He could make his Force Unleashed Star Destroyer flinging über-jedi as there is no hard cap in FR.

If he happened to play this game, that is. ;)

*I spy with my little eye he is going through these pages*

That would still be a rather heavy investment of xp. I don't recall off hand what the actual rule states, but we've been running it with the idea that you get your first force point for starting a tree. the second is within the tree, usually around 100xp deep (give or take a few). Then to get another (third, in this case) you need to get that far down a second tree. The starting Force for selecting a tree only applies to the first one. With that, the two groups I've run for over a year now, would at most be looking at the 3rd FR, as they don't have enough xp to be that far down another path. Balance wise, it's rather stable as my bounty hunter who has invested most of his xp into his original tree, is capable of standing against a force user with the winner not being a sure bet.

It is entirely possible that everyone has gone to gencon so there is no one to update the website.

Please mr. Pirate, tell us more about the sabers!? :D

What kind? Basic, Double-bladed, Pike, Shoto, or Training??

Any other force tradition weapons other than lightsaber in the book?

I will pay double for the book lol

I will pay double for the book lol

It's available on ebay: $100 + shipping

You cant even spring for free shipping when scalping the books at 300% markup? What a jackhole!

(That said, I'd be tempted by the dark side too, if I was at Gencon and looking at a pile of F&D. . . . )

It was sold out :-(

Yeah, and it says its "the last one", which means that the seller only bought two. I say if you don't have someone at gen-con getting it for you, save the money and wait for the beta to sell on fantasy flights site. You may have to wait but you won't take a hit to your wallet beyond the 30 dollar price tag it would normal sell.

Very true thank you for the advice

6/2, Enc 1, HPs 5 Breach 1, Sunder

... for a "standard" Illum crystal that is.

Correct, unmodded.

One interesting thing is that careers, not specializations, give you Force rating. Although it's not spelled out (that I know of), I'm assuming that F&D specializations all require FR 1 if you come to them from EotE or AoR.

You did not read that. I was never here...

That's not actually true. You could theoretically have a non-Force User pick up any of the new specs.

The problem with them doing it is that they will not have a Force Rating, and therefore will not get any use out of the Force Sensitive talents (THAT'S why they put in all the explosion-y symbols in the FS talent trees).

If you don't start as one of these careers, you have to move through the Exile or Emergent to get the Force Rating needed to access the whole tree.

A very excellent detail and it gets into the one thread people talking about non Force users picking up a Lightsaber. They could buy into one of these trees, have no FR and pick up ranks of Parry, but not Reflect. They could even get ranks of Lightsaber skill, but only a Force Sensitive will get full use out of a Lightsaber. The nice thing is Marauders can get Parry. :)

So what kind of Jedi can you get out of 150xp?

And what does the sample adventure have the party doing?
