I suppose Julia Brown, the CoC LCG's latest "heroine", is too much to hope for as the first AH-CoC co-venture? The Violinist hasn't got a name yet...
Thecorinthian, EXCELLENT read on everyone and their starting locations! (From her personal story, Diana the Redeemed Cultist is a shopkeeper herself; her storefront can't be too far from the General Store.) Very thorough, and if there's anything that can be learned there, it's that there are really no guarantees that any occupation will "match" its boardspace. At least, not without an appropriate backstory defining such. I mean, the Student and the Urchin start at the BANK? Frankly I would hope the Bank finally gets someone who has a CAREER there. Loan Officer. Investor. Vault Guard. But no...I bet it will be someone completely un-bank-related checking out their dead grandmother's security deposit box.
Starting in Lost in Time and Space is kinda interesting...but then...you're not really starting there, are you? You're starting...anywhere you want. On any board. Maybe not the Kingsport Head, but...I think that's too much, eh? Not when everyone else is fixed, even Luke? I'd rather we had a Sheldon gang member in the Woods, or a Spelunker in the Black Cave, or the Caretaker in the Graveyard? Someone said the Roadhouse needed a Bartender. OOO! Independence Square Gypsy! Historical Society Birdwatcher!
FFG probably wants to avoid starting Investigators in some of the "hotter" Gate Locations, just to cut down on the odds of opening a Gate on them just before the game starts...but I suppose in that case, they'd just start like Luke, so maybe not. In fact, that might be more interesting than just being LiTaS: you might start in, say, the Woods...or you could be starting ANYWHERE offworld.
