Just talked to my FLGS, and the manager said they received one out of the five Transports they ordered, and he's warning everyone who pre-ordered the Tantive IV that the rumor mill says he may receive zero units.

Apologies if this is a well-traveled topic; I know distributors have had to short orders on some of the other waves, but I hadn't heard until now of any store failing to receiving any units at all.

…and any suggestions for what to do? Any information on whether Miniature Market etc. expect to cover their pre-orders?

No information, but my observation has been that Miniature Market and CoolStuffInc both seem to have significantly better stock than LGS. They could be leveraging their sales volume with FFG to ensure they get all their pre-orders? MM shows that they have 20+ "in stock". Presumably that means that they can fulfill 100% of their pre-orders, and they still have some leftover.

It could be allocations due to some containers being held up in customs, or a boat being slower. Much like Imperial Aces, just be patient for the rest of the contents to ship.

My preorder from CSI shipped today, so anecdotal evidence indicates they have stock.

Or your FLGS put their order in very late and didn't get in entirely on the first allocation?

I pre-ordered 2 Tantive IV's from MM (one for me and one for my brother-in-law) and they shipped today. I think they have the inside track due to volume. My FLGS got "allocated" on Imperial Aces, and I haven't heard about the Tantive IVs yet.

It happens. In the initial shipment of Imperial Aces my FLGS received four.

Most small shops got shorted, I'm sure MM and CSI got shorted as well, but because they order so much? It does not phase them. I have been shorted on Aces, Transport and Tantive, so I have no hope I will get all my wave 4 and Reb Aces.

My LGS (in Australia) Pre-ordered 3 and received all 3. I pick mine up tomorrow morning (it's painful having to wait to be allowed to have it). He has also ordered more, and they are on their way atm.

My LGS seems to have a great rapport with it's distributor. I haven't missed a single item that I've pre-ordered (touch wood) since the start.

A shorted xwing order? Inconceivable.

My FLGS took pre-orders for the transport, filled them all, and had four more on the shelf for sale. So I don't know about orders being shorted.

I didn't get my notice from MM today and I ordered over a month ago...

I'm scared... O.o

The distribution chain seems to be good in Australia in regards to getting new releases. However some stores in the US are hit in miss, probably depending on who they use as their distributor.

My FLGS got about three transports the week of release, and four the week after, I believe.

It was more than enough to fill the need at the time.

Hopefully the same will happen this time around, as I am planning on getting the Tantive IV from them.
