Wave 4 is just about here

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

It is said things come in threes... so why not a timely release of Wave 4?

True dat

I have the ships I want preordered from Miniatures Market with express shipping. Something tells me that the Defender will be an absolute beast when it comes to killing transports.

Video unboxing of wave four, though mainly just looking at the cards we already have seen.

Yeah. I mean, i'm salivating at the idea of using Brath and an escort Defender coming in with Ion Cannons to bleed Energy, then making a TL'd attack to stitch it full of critical hits. Can you imagine landing 3-4 hits against one and turning them all into critical hits? Gotta be a few "Direct Hit!" cards in there.

Seriously though it's kinda sick that this is the first time we've got a small fighter who can pack a cannon.

B-wing?

Better yet, Nail him with Structural Collapse. And then Sabotuer it back up. I mean, picture it. 5 Damage off a single crit.

Oh that's just sick.

:P

Ya I'm kinda getting pumped.

I pre ordered 2 E wings and 2 defenders today.

For some reason I'm just not thrilled at this moment with the other two ships, but who am I kidding, I'll get them all eventually.

B-wing?

"We've". As in Imperials. I'm no terrorist Rebel scum.

Unless they posted that late we have sometime from end of next week until 3rd week in June. Wow super excited. It's less then 30 days from today at most :-)

This is just a guess, but I honestly think that it will be only 1-2 weeks after the event before they're available. Any longer than that and the few people who got theirs at Imdaar Alpha will be lording it up too much, or selling their stuff secondhand. Both are negative for FFG.

The PS3 Defender don't got an EPT ... that sucks

I WANT WAVE 4 NOW !!!

I buy everything and don't have a side. :)

The B-wing has slower movements on its dial which allows it to slow-roll with the HLC. The Defender will quickly be in range 1-2 so I don't know how tactically effective it will be to take a HLC for what amounts to 1 or 2 shots. The Defender is more durable than the B-wing which may help you get more shots out of the HLC, but it is an expensive proposition to pay 8 points to gain 2 agility, and lose 2 shields and 1 PS. Probably the best use of a HLC on the Defender will be in Epic play, if you an manage to get behind a CR-90 at range 3 and just blast away.

Never heard the term "on the boat" before.

I assume it means they've started shipping them to retailers? I don't presume FFG actually makes these ships on some sort of remote tropical island.

Click on the "upcoming" link in the nav bar at the top of the page. Off on the right hand side of the page that takes you to is a listing of the various statuses that upcoming products can have, such as "on the boat", "in development", "at the printer" and a brief description of what those things mean.

On that same page, just below the product picture for each item, is a little icon that corresponds with one of those statuses and tells you how far along that product is.

For what is worth, Barnes and Nobles has the wave 4 ships being available on 5/28/2014. That is just a few days away. So we hopefully will see these ships within the next 2 weeks.

Careful, last time someone brought up the B&N release date they just about got crucified...lol

WANT...NEED...ARGH!

:)

I have a $50 B&N gift card waiting in the wings for the wave 4 ships to arrive at my local B&N. I hope the 28th release date is correct.

I'm a little disappointed in the UK distributor. My FLGS last week got reports that Wave 4 had been delayed until late August/early September. I assumed that it was a worldwide thing. I am very annoyed to find it is UK only and that Wave 4 is still pushing ahead in the US. :(
