Re-roll Order?

By Ribann, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Let's say you have the following:

-Krassis has a TL on the defender and uses HLC.

-He rolls 4 blanks on the initial roll.

-Jonus is within Range 1.

How do all the rerolls work IF you were to keep getting blanks? Krassis ability first? Jonus ability second? TL third or first? How many dice can I actually reroll?

I hope that is all the information needed to get a clear answer. Cheers!

I'd rule it as you can only reroll each die once, so if you use target lock to reroll all of them then the other 2 can't be used. likewise if you use Jonus ability, 2 reroll, then Krassis, 1 of the remaining, you could only use target lock to reroll the remaining 1 die.

you can only reroll a die once, no matter how many times you could reroll it.

Krassis, Jonus, TL: You can resolve them in any order you like. However, you cannot reroll any die more than once.

The better question would be...why take a target lock when using the HLC if you have krassis as your pilot and Jonus nearby? Take a focus!

I fly this combo quite often, and the crew slot with Krassis is always RecSpec.

You can take them in any order BUT you only get to reroll a given die once as previously stated.

TL could reroll 0-4 dice but if you use one of the other RR methods first those dice drop the 4.

Krassis's ability can reroll 0-1 dice assuming they haven't previously been re-rolled.

Jonus's ability can reroll 0-2 dice assuming they haven't previously been re-rolled.

We I assigning the order I'd go with Krassis and Jonus to reroll 3 of the dice as they are "free" to use. If I think it will do some good I'd then spend the TL to reroll the last die although I may save it to have next round.

In slightly different but similar vein, can you affect a die roll with a focus token if you have re-rolled them with, for example, a target lock?

So if I got blanks, re-rolled one/some with an ability/TL, and then some focuses came up, could I then use a focus token to change them?

Yes you can.

You are free to use focus and TL in any order you like. Everyone rerolls first and uses focus tokens after that.

Because the alternative is "I'm sorry, your token has already been spent, so you can't modify your re-rolled dice".

Note: The number of die modifications is limitless, but only one of them can be a re-roll (per die).
