Your favorite hero??

By BroLuk, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

After making monsters ranking it is natural thing to make heroes ranking. Same as in monsters ranking you can type here 3 of your favorites heroes from standard Descent and all expansions.

My top 3:

1. Trenloe the Strong - really cool looking hero with nice stats (1 disadvantage - poor speed, but you can't have all) and 1 of the best ability (re-rolling 1 green, 1 yellow or 1 black die without almost any penalty is really good - as I'm fighting him melee weapon almost all the time aiming is useless and only Overlord's dodging may prevent using this ability). And I can run him first to all areas coz of his good HP and armor.

2. Battlemage Jaes - another cool looking hero with good ability (using runes with the best armors is powerful combo - mages disavdvantage is that they can die during 1 turn of monsters activation; Jaes ability help survive it).

3. Red Scorpion - on 3rd place for look. Really hot babe happy.gif

As a player:

1) Tahlia

2) Kirga

3) Runewitch Astarra

SteelHorns: Although his horns aren't steel... sad.gif

Well, I've only played the game a few times but my favourite is the Deathknight, guess I don't know his name

Varikas? Gets the one fatigue back a turn or something?

Wish there was a poll option ...this would be ideal.

Jeez...give me a nice, shiny new site and I'm still not satisfied! lengua.gif

Guess it would help if I at least answered, huh?

In no particular order, these 3 are some of my favorites:

Runewitch Astarra

Andira Runehand

Nanok of the Blade

Gotta be,

1) Bogran the shadow, aka bogran the assassin, aka bogran the hotness with a bow

2) Varikas the Dead, aka the fatigue generating machine

3) Laurel of Bloodwood, aka, Laurel of head shots

1. Battlemage Jaez

2. Nanok of the Blade

3. the magic guy that does plus 3 damage, cant member his name

My favourites, in no particular order, are Tahlia the energizer bunny, Silhouette of a thousand orders and know-it-all Landrec. Give them the right skills and they roll :)

One Fist- A free Red/Green melee attack EVERY turn, even when running? Oh yeah!

Tahlia- Move during guard!

BM Jaes- wear armor and use runes!

Brother Glyr.

He can motor around with 11 MP when doing a battle action. For a tank, that is totally sweet. gran_risa.gif

I think is Mad Carthos Or Carthos the Mad. I'm at work but Ill chk later. ............... Or was it Mad Carlos

for me it's

One Fist

I am starting to like Karnon (ToI)

Okaluk and Rakash (ToI)

Oh what ...................... Carthos the mad only does 2 wounds to. gui%C3%B1o.gif

1) One Fist: I've used him to great effect running and hooking someone while equipping a shield in his other hand. In the current RtL campaign, he's got the skill that gives him +2 melee damage, as well as the ring of speed, and the bracers that let him recover a fatigue for two surges ;-)

2) Andira Runehand: Having the cone of fire with the Pierce 2 is nasty. Plus she's not as fragile as many of the other mage types.

3) Brother Glyr: There's something to be said for a guy who can move two spaces and get a battle action, not to mention the fact that he can wear armour up the wazoo without ever worrying about it slowing him down. In the campaign I gave him Shadow Soul to help him catch up to the rest of the party and/or get to those hard-to-reach spaces :-D

No, just a fatigue potion. 2 Free Movement + 4 Fatigue Moves + Drink Potion + 5 More Moves = 11 Moves.

However, I really just like him because he can usually fork out a battle without having to spend any fatigue; allowing him to save it for important situations (where he can go the full 11! contrasted with most tanks 5 on a battle).

nanok of the blade because if played right, even without the ability to wear armor he will allways have as much or more than any other tank as well as not being slowed down because of it.

tahlia because movement + guard = overpowered in tandam with a tight nit group of adventurers

and battlemage jaes because as others before me have mentioned " mage + armor = mega power"

these 3 together could take most dungeons that you would normally need 4 heroes for. though an subterfuge type added in couldnt hurt the mix.

After playing the newest campaign last week I drew Karnon for the new ToI Expansion and OMG he rules when you put the right gear on him. He is currently walking around with a "mace of aver" from the copper deck and took down a NAMED master deamon in little more than 2 rounds of combat. BIg, beefy and 5 power on the melee attack. He is currently averaging 13 wounds per swing. sorpresa.gif

After that I would have to say that Battle Mage Jaes will always hold a special place in my heart as he is a jerk in his own right. the ability to wear armor and a rune at the same time rules.

Finally my last pick would be any mage with spiritwalker skill preferably my other draw of the campaign Andrial(?) the mage chick that when making a magic attack against adjacent is considered "pierce 2" nasty combo.

1. Nanok of the Blade - Send him in with Rings that boost armour and then start upgrading his Power Dice. In RtL he can have Armour 7 without any items equipped. That rocks.

2. One Fist - Being able to do a melee attack and a ranged attack in one turn is the bomb. One question though, for his Hook attack do you always add the power die or is it strictly a Red + Green die?

3. Landrec the Wise - 2 free surges. Nice in the beginning, amazing latter when Surges really pay-off.

Kirga - smallest character and often not be seen by the Overlord ;) he looks so...small....but is a range-beast!

and Nanok of the Blade - best figure

Roll power dice as well.
