Looking for Transparent Regional Dice...

By PLR, in X-Wing

My closest regional is still over a month away, but I'm looking to snag a set of the transparent dice. I've heard they go for crazy amounts so I'm hoping to maybe find a trade.

I have a set of Season 1 Target Locks (which I hear are quite rare) and can probably toss in some other items depending on what someone is looking for.

So if anyone has a set they want to part with, drop me a line and we can discuss.

I have a set of dice and I'm willing to let them go. However the Target Locks still show up on eBay and sell between $45-$55 for a set of 5 Red and 5 Green. The Dice are between $328-$250. Your going to need a lot more then Target Locks to snag them. Here is what I would take for my Dice

10 Focus Tokens valued at $150

10 Target Lock tokens valued at $55

10 Stress tokens valued at $30

5 Ion tokens and 3 Bomb Tokens Valued at $45

That's giving the higher value on some of those items and comes in at $280.

*coughs I hear your target lock tokens, and raise you 5 ion/3 bombs, 10 stress tokens (if I can find them lol) alt art cards (col Jendon/4 daggers/Wedge/mauller mithil/5 gold sq and either 10 evade tokens or 100 galactic credits

Haha, not really looking for to start a bidding war. I also have shield tokens, range rulers and such.

A set of dice would be nice, but ya $300 for them is insane, can't imagine that price will hold for long...

sorry, but that price is absolutely retarded for a set of dice

The price will hold for as long as those who want the dice does what people like Osoroshii want them to do to get them.

I would personally not want to buy nor sell a prize-item. It will tell people you did something/went somewhere/performed something you actually didn't. They are really nice game pieces and great prizes, but still just prizes.

we are talking here about dice right? Those things wich you can also buy for $5, but...transparent. That's it? They are not made from platina, or signed by every actor who played in the original trilogy? They have no golden inlays and do not always come up as a critical hit? The whole thing sounds pretty insane to me.

(btw, this post is completely unique! There is no other like it, it has a unique id and the letters used in this post have never ever ever been used in that order before. You can become the owner of this post for say $10.000 and you truly have a unique item. Anyone?)

My concern is not peoples wanting limited items. I feel. I really do. But these are prizes, right? Like say, buying the Stanley Cup and putting it up for show in your living room (no, these dice are not like buying the stanley cup. I'd actually rather take the dice, but the principle is the same).

When I see people dishing out these acrylic tokens and movie still cards I like to think of them as tournament veterans. Buying these things, even though they are really great items, just feels wrong and takes away the extra bit those players earned. Because those items are in fact earned and I don't feel they should be bought. It takes away the glory and just boils them down to plastic trinkets, devaluing them.

seems like some smart quick thinking person would be spooling up an "ICE DICE" machine right now....lol

Bobs and ion tokens for 45$? I was quite underwhelmed after getting them (rebel player, no bombs), but now it seems quite a catch.

People like me didn't set the price, buyers on eBay set the price. The price could come down at that point I may still have them. My goal is to win a second set and then my original set will be off the market.

I think there are sites you can get custom dice made. I am sure you can get X-Wing dice made up in any colours you want. I know Chessex does it and a few other companies. Not sure of the costs or if certain companies will do it since it is X-Wing, may need to change the symbols on the dice.

Sure you can get custom dice made for far less then these regional dice are going for. The only problem is you can never use them in a tournament.

I think it's great. people who won them and don't want to keep them can make back some good money, people who want them and have a bunch of extra cash laying around get them. What seems to be the problem?

This is an interesting viewpoint. At one event I had someone come up to me and say "You must win a lot" as I had all the plastic tokens, and some Alternate art cards in my squad (all of which were won). I never really thought about the items as status symbols before, but some people obviously do.

I can't win more than 6 dice, and 6 aren't all that useful so that's why I'm trying to trade off some other "trophies" for ones I want more... still can't really argue with your point of view though.

I've seen the ultimate trophy swag at regionals. Paul was playing there and had the World Champion movement templates. This templates are sweet looking, a metallic red with mirror reflective lettering. You knew when he sat down you were playing a champion. There is a little psychological victory in having some plastic trinkets. If your opponent is familiar with the rewards he can tell how long you've been playing and what you have won. If he's thinking about that and not the game at hand, you have a small advantage.

I think people should chill out about the dice. I think that will be the on thing FFG releases regularly for high end events. Since we need at least 7 of each I don't think they wills top at just one round of the prize.

I would love to get some Acrylic bombs. I made another trade on this forum where I sent some good stuff, but my stuff never materialized. I have an extra Store Championship Range Ruler and some movie still cards, as well as some Star Wars LCG promo cards.

Well I'll be at GenCon with my Dice playing in the first flight of the North American Championships. If you happen to find me ( I'm an Irish looking guy, red beard and all ) I'll be open to the idea of trading the dice.
