Agreed. The Mayday ones are 40microns. The others I tried were around 60-80. Though there was difference in stacking, I've notice no difference in durability. So for stacking and space, thinner is better for me. And they are cheap, so replacing them (not yet) isn't a serious consideration... unless one is concerned about collecting and protection, and even then, replacing a split sleeve is pennies at the worst.
Card Sleeves

According to people on BGG the slippery factor will decrease over time with plays...
I hope it's true. In any case I definitely will build a deck holder from cardboard.

288 Adventure, 128 Dungeon, 90 Spell cards. Add another 100 for the rest (Purchase, Warlock Quests, etc.), that will leave you with extras.

You need 12 packs from FFG ( 12 x 50) and then you have enough.
12 x 2,50= 30 euro
At a count of 50 for $2.50, the FFG sleeves are some of the most expensive around, though they are the thickest I've seen at 100 microns. Buying aty 40microns I get 100 for $1.75. You might shop around.
thanx for the info guys! does anyone know a place to get them,at a good price point?
2,50 euro is for me, a good price

Depends on where you are in the world. In the USA, I buy at Mayday Games. (41x63mm). They are a tight fit, but I like them that way. For something with a little more room, try THESE (43x65mm). Same price.
Just thought I'd add that I found a reasonably cool craft tray at Hobbycraft today. I have seen these before, but those had 4cm rows, whilst this new one had 5cm rows.
It seemed to work quite well in play -
I only left the Character cards in for the picture as they would not be needed usually. This will leave more space for more cards, but I imagine I will need another one as more expansions come along!
Pretty cool, but is it just for holding in play, or can it store the cards laid flat as well? Or is there a top half that closes on top to hold the cards in?
It's a nice idea for holding the reserve deck of cards.
I am more looking for a holder that i can place beside the board ( example: the warcraft card holder?) But then better..
I hope that FFG will make one someday..
It has a lid so you could store the cards in it, but it would not be ideal really. There are removable slats that are at the wrong intervals for standard cards, so you would have to remove some. You can see those at the back I removed to place the larger cards there.
I think it is pretty good for general use whilst playing, but it is certainly not bespoke. I did have an idea about making larger versions of the WoW Adventure Game holders, but they would have to be pretty tall and larger than normal due to sleeving.
Ah ha, I see from the shop's site that the separaters have predefined positions, limiting how big or small one can make the individual sections. Still, its a good option to keep cards organized and convenient during a game.
Arrrrggghhhhh!!
A necessary bump, but I don't know why i didn't twig before... The craft tray idea was pretty cool, but as you can see above, it was too large for the board and a bit unwieldy.
So... I looked at my "Really Useful Boxes" and pondered... and then realised I had my answer in front of me already!
The smaller boxes I use for the tokens and coins are the same length and breadth as the ones I use for card holders, but they are not as tall. So transplanting the cards from storage into some spare shallow boxes, I give you my in-game card holders!
The cards fit nicely and lean slightly so they are easy to remove from the box. You can always put a blank card in the end to cover up the card on the "bottom" of the pile. The "discard pile" will likely be the large box they came out of.
Perhaps now I can stop spending money on potential solutions!
Yeah, these are good ones. I found them as well at a local office supply. Still prefer my hand made stuff, but there's no denying these are very convenient. Small and larger sizes available as well. The smaller ones are great for token storage.
...and, of course, there is the colour coding!
Indeed, though I keep finding them out of blue in my store!

Yes, I've tried these box too and I use it to hold my dice in the Talisman box (3rd ed.).
As for cards, unsleeve they fit perfectly, with the "Mayday Games" cards sleeves the cards don't fit so well and if you use the heavier FFG yellow card sleeves, they don't fit well at all (sideway of course).
I tried with the 0.2 litre size. The top of the box is slightly larger than the bottom and sleeved cards have to be gently pushed to the bottom or used crooked inside the box to allowed for the excess lenght of the sleeve, also the plastic used to make these box does not impressed me very much as the top the box I bought in early december last year is already broken!!! And no it was not abused as it was in my 3rd edition Talisman box since then.
It is still the best fit that is available for unsleeve cards and custom made card holder are best for sleeved cards until FFG or another company design a card holder specially for Talisman cards that are sleeved .
Cheers
Hmmm. Odd that your sleeved cards don't fit as mine fit just right. I am currently using the TBG 50 micron sleeves, and my other set is sleeved using the Arcane Tinman 80 microns sleeves.
I ran into a similar problem with the MayDay Gold sleeves. Are there dimensional differences between these sleeves?
I seem to recall some people mention that Mayday's 63x41mm sleeves wouldn't fit FFG's cards of that size (since the cards themselves are actually something like 64x42).

What does your hand made stuff look like? I'm trying to find something useful and I like the idea of Really Useful Boxes. However, It's to expensive to ship them to Poland :/

Yes, I heard that too... and in a word ....
. The MayDay sleeves are a tight fit, and I like them that way. But they are by no means too small. I've been able to put in standard cards with a home printed back to make them blend prefectly with other homemade cards. Once in a pack (well, maybe twice) I'll run into a sleeve that's a little to troublesome. So I chuck it and grab another.
And E., I'll try to get a picture up of my latest box work in the next day or two. It's not something I'd recommend for most to try, but I enjoy doing it.
