My YT-1300 Conversion - Part 3 - WIP
Nice going!
Can't wait to see it painted.
You've made your life difficult leaving the pit till last. You can try my trick from my 1st YT conversion on my paint thread.

How so? I used your exact method for plugging the hole.
Also Rob, from the looks of things, when you repainted your centred YT, am I right in saying you didn't spray it with a primer and start all over? But rather you touched it up and also added touches to the original MF in order to give both a coherent look as well as saving on painting time?
Edited by jonboyjon1990Doh I thought the 2nd update was the latest one. Good to see the thread trick worked again.
Yes you are right I just painted the new areas and blended them into the existing preprinted stuff then added lots of weathering to give a consistent look all over.
I'm working on another centered YT at the moment, did spray the filled in panel area to cover the white but otherwise mixed up colours to match the rest of the prepaint.
Actually you didn't need to cut the hole where the dish was, that piece comes off and just leaves two small squarish holes where it was mounted.. I found this out by ftrying to cut it flush with a saw.. then when it poped off I was pleasently surprised...
