Feedback on my Luke/Biggs/Porkins list.

I've been thinking about this list. A lot. It seems to be very cool list to play and I would love some feedback. What lists should I have problems with, which would I have an upper hand on etc?

Not a big fan having biggs with PTL.

He is going to die, so why waste the points.

Better upgrades Imo that can be put on him

I was never a big fan of porkens. Myself I don't usually like abilities that have a negative effect.

You have biggs who will take all the hits and after he is gone, leaves you with 2 ships. Having one ship whos ability can hurt himself is the last thing you want.

For biggs I usually like to take something like r2d2, shield/hull upgrade, R2-f2.

One build I started to like with biggs is having R2-f2 on him with stealth device. Having 2 extra Def dice can increase his survivability rate. Just make sure to focus with him

Why squad leader on Luke? Again I think those points could be spent better else where

You have the R2 on Luke, and with biggs there, if you have draw their fire on Luke you can takes some heat off biggs by taking any crits he may take and user R2 to recharge the shield

Porkins in that set up is awesome. I would drop PtL on Biggs and give old Pork Chop a hull upgrade. Don't like squad leader on Luke. Take Expert Handling or find a point for PtL. You can do that by dropping Biggs droid which he doesn't need without PtL

R2f2 requires an action to get the +1 agi. So you need some else to pass him focus tokens

You are right, way too much points sunken into Biggs. On my defence, he was the last addition. I have never used him, usually I play 4-5 unnamed ships in various constellations.

My list now looks like this:

Luke

*Draw their fire

*R2-D2

Porkins

*R5-D8

*PTL

*Hull upgrade

*Flechette Torpedoes

Biggs

*Shield upgrade

The Torpedoes are there because I had 3 points left. I could go for Hull upgrade on Luke instead, or R5-P9 on Biggs, but then he is a point hogger again.

Any reason you'd not opt for wedge or Wes. Higher ps more offensive. I mean you got 2 def ships. Kick in some offensive power.

Not really. I just like Luke with R2, and love Porkins. If I could get those two I am open for suggestions about my third choice. I am also open for suggestions in Y, A or B wings too, or any other Ship really. Though I despise the HWK and would need a really good reason to use one.

Edit: actually Porkins is the one pilot I am really passionate about.

The only red maneuver for the x wing is the k turn. So opportunist or ptl are needed on porky to use his ability... If you want to use it every turn that is. Using it implies risk so I would puta hull on him and r5d8 is a good choice there.

Instead of squad leader, I'd put draw their fire on Luke. Cheaper, and keeps Biggs alive longer. The longer Biggs is kept alive the more dangerous your squad is. 9 attack dice is a far cry from 6.

Shield on Biggs is good and I like R5P9 or r2F2. Makes use of any unused focus tokens at the end of the round or an extra agility for every time you roll.

Im normally put R2-F2 on Biggs to help him survive, then i make sure he flies at the back of the pack in an attempt to get him at Range 3 for the extra agility.

Sure he cant focus or TL but as long as he's acting as a blaster sponge the other two can dish out the damage and hopefully thin out the enemy numbers before Biggs gets vaped.

I have also Tried Luke with R2-F2 and PTL, he was quite the tank and generated a lot of agro. I like the Porkins set up, may have to give it a go as i find R5-D8 is quite good and with PTL you can always have a go at repairing while ensuring you have a Focus.
