I've watched the Run Chart a couple of times ( the New one from the last FAQ) and at point 3.0 Encountering the Ice there is a Paid Ability window at 3.1
3. The Runner Encounters a piece of Ice ( on Encounter effects trigger)
3.1. Icebreakers can interact with the encountered ICE ( Paid ability window Icon)
3.2. Resolve all sub-routines on the encountered ICE
Er..... so in other words a House of Knives damage counter or a Snoop Counter, will resolve BEFORE the Net damage subroutines .... HOWEVER, because Komainu receives number of subroutines NOT at 3.1., but at 3.0 , that WILL mean they take their hand size damage + 1 and die.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Dydra
Komainu + Snoop/ House of Knives clarification
True, but in return all the runner has to do is break 1 subroutine and they will be fine (for certain cardless definitions of fine).
The potential presence of Komainu means a runner would be rather careless these days to run into Jinteki without some form of icebreaking plan (Grappling Hook or a Deus ex perhaps).
I'm really liking all the nice toys Jinteki got out of the Honour and Profit box and Snoop is on of my favourite pieces of NBN ICE, nice to see other people using it for entertaining shenanigans.
I'm a full time Jinteki player. Just decided to clear this for a lot of people, because there were many questions I saw been asked in different groups, forums and utube.
Also, you are not fully correct about one thing. Running without a Code Gate breaker against Jinteki these days would be a bad idea too
U see it doesn't matter if u have a sentry breaker or not, or grapling hook, if you get Inazuma-ed in the Komainu
and u can't check it and jack out like an RSVP lol
Bioroids love Inazuma too. Just sayin'.
Bioroids love Inazuma too. Just sayin'.
EVERYONE loves Inazuma it seems stick it in front of a destroyer, an anti-personel, a hostile asset (and don't rez any other ICE) or just a simple EtR.
