So it's thursday and I head out for Ohio to meet up with ufs house at Matt Kohls Apartment. My journey there goes fairly smooth, some minor traffic crap, but nothing that isn't usual on long trips. I actually get to matt's place early, talk to Jon Herr on the phone, and he tells me he's an hour away. I got to my destination alot faster than map quest predicted. It said 6 hours, I end up getting there in about 4 and a half. Even with all my stops for random jank, food, bathroom etc. So with that happening I end up standing outsideof this day-care next to matt's house, looking like a big pedophile(thanks Jon!)
Jon show's up about an hour later, we go their local comic shop so Jon can pick up his comics and I pick up some hot purple dragon shields, which I plan to put to use in the future. I get to see ufs house's shop and it's pretty sweet. Also matt's town of kettering where he lives is a pretty place and it has some epic things about it. For one it has a green walmart, a street named Mayo and well I guess that's about it for my knowledge on the town. We all order a pizza and smash on it while talking about decks. I aslo play jon with my zangief losing to his characer he had proxied. His deck can throw enough orange cards and tap me off the all symbol with manifest to f my couch in one epic turn. This was pretty cool to see. Paul gets there around 6 ish and we all head out and pack up matt's suv and hit the road.
This is where things get epic, the road trip to Mn is just he beginning of any epic weekend. We have 12 hours ahead of us, which turns into 14 b/c of a traffic delay. So onthe way we encounter many things, which matt is going to post up. We all also kept something called a captain's log of the trip, which matt has and will post up I believe. Some highlightsfrom the log are: "red face does work on road", "Cletus the construction worker gave us directions....", "LOOK AT ALL THESE HATS" and much more. Be on the look out for that peeps.
So we ride and ride till like 2 in the morning, I end up having some pretty fn'g epic phone calls that get us all some laughs. Omar and trips call me drunk, scuba calls me, my mom etc. Fun times all around and many laughs were had. Omar got drunk off mike's hard lemonade or something he was telling me like that, we all had some fun at that. At 2 pull off the interstate into rockford illinois or indiana I can't remember. we were all tired and pass out almost immediately after so more trash talk and me telling paul bittner we were going to have a sexy party in the bed.
Next day we ride and ride and ride, put more stuff in the captains log. We stop at a epic gas station that has a freaking dinosaur outside it's entrance. Paul get's a special Sinclair exclusive dinoaur made, named sinclair. This dinosaur is in the back seat the whole rest of the trip, causing mayhem. This dinosaur had an alligator face and ran on it's back two legs, it's not your average everyday Brontasaruous. On this trip matts radio stations also display some epic names, Xm radio i think, of bands and songs. Some highlights are Jizz Lobber, Carnage vs Venom and other ones I cant' remember, but they are still highlights!
So when we get there steve has us all in his office, this was at like 1 or so in the afternoon, and we talk ufs and he asks us alot of questions. I oogle alot of his minis in his office, man does this guy have some freaking minis! So many epic ones I wanted lol. We get to see the facilities and have to sign nda's haha. Talk about rock star status, so hot! The offices were really freaking cool and everyone we met there was awesome. I get to meet Jeremy(433) who posts up the podcasts so that was freaking cool. I talk trash with him for a while. Then we all get to head over to the event center with james and mess around for a while. Play some sf4, ufs and look at all the scrolls. I took pictures of all of them almost, I want that ukyo and mai one dammit!
We end up going out for lunch while we are there too and this applebees was epic. Matt gets a free meal b/c the waitress spilt water on him(she was not hot). We were making jokes like he should order 20 desserts and stuff. Hata was laughing like a madman, he takes pleasure in others peoples pain. He has the death symbol in real life, that's why it's on both his character cards, dirty ass. After the event center shuts down we all go out to Chili's, well almost all of us, I know our party was like 30 something. Man the staff there handled us well though.
So after kicking it for a while we go back to the sexy days inn and sleep the night away after some playtesting and deck tweaking. The next morning we discover this days inn has perhaps the lowest showerhead placement of any facility in the world. It's like you had to be a oompa loompa to freaking get water to hit your head. So after we all get our low tier showers, we are ready to go and paul is trying to make a sideboard for his deck and we leave him to it and to bring down a box. As i'm walking out the maid asks me something in spanish that sounded like "do you has prize ticket" or something, I can't rem what it was, but it was epic.
So at potm we get there, get registered, do some trading, kick it with people etc. We then go through the champ ceremony which you can see in the video on the main site and we then get ready to FIGHT!! I had fun in this tournament. I went 4-2 and only lost to Jeremy Ray(2nd) and Kirk Polka(3rd overall). So this was a pretty succesful tournament for me.
I played against zi mei round one, winning 2-1. This was a tough hardfought game, I won game 3 on the last turn with hand discard and double k. reppa. Not pretty but I'll take it. Good match and this zi mei top 8ed, he was a solid player and real layed back chill guy.
Round 2 I played against a tira and won 2-0. This game was freaking nuts as I barely won b/c my opponent forgot a enhance on tiras new
asset that would of buned me for my last vitality. Better to be lucky than good somtimes. This guy(I forgot your name, sry) has a bright future in ufs, his deck was teched out with some crazy cards. I hope to see you at future events man.
Round 3 I lose to jeremy ray pretty badly 1-0. I was totally not ready for this deck, made some mistaks, jeremy made none as far as I can remember that amounted to anything lol. It was good to finally get a game in with you Jeremy. Spinta was chomping up my board for free, all needs help agains this card lol, its' scary. It was as epic as I expected it would be, but how ironic that I was playing alex and not you lol. I look forward tofuture games with you and lets keep getting this prize support in ufs baby. Round 4 I played Osei aka Immortal Jynx. We had never played before so I knew this would be epic. Turns out he is playing hanzo kick and i'm playing alex. So this matchup is very weird lol. It's all about tag along. Game one takes forever with me survining thanks to alex's draw giving me a bigger hand size and me also running bitter rivals and chesters to help against his kick. I win game one due to fight or flight too as I made his kick come for 6 damage which i took and then he couldn't loop it back to his hand. Also game one he rfg'ed 3 kicks on his first cycle. But I still think i could of won this game regardless b/c i had so many cards in my hand early after going through 3 of his tag alongs and him being delayed in setting up his board. This game was hard fought and I won both of them with reppa into storm I believe and hand discard. good games Osei! **** was nuts.
Round 5 I get to play the innagural Legacy Worlds winner Kirk Polka. This match was freaking epic as all get out, to say the least. Game one is weird I almost turn 3 him as he plays Ira spinta and i double unorthodox training his hand. I take the 4 and he has no cards in his hand, but i'm now kinda short on cards in my staging area. I have double reppa in my hand after alex form and mignon is only 19 life. I also have lotm out so i'm good on killing him as long as I pass the checks. I check a 4 on my first reppa, tap 2 and get in there for 12 damage. On my next reppa at an 8 dif I just need to check a 4 to pass and kill him and I check a seal of cessation and can't pass to kill him. Sad face
. He ends up winning this game in the next few turns as I run out of orange cards. Game two I never had a shot, he did what air does best, to me and I get rolled pretty hard. Good games kirk, freaking fun as hell playing against you. I think we said orange cards over 100 times in a 50 min span, I can tell we both def play legacy LOL.
Round 6 I get paired against fellow Aids member ScubaDude playing fire zi mei. We had played this match the night before with it being pretty even. We were both 3-2 so weneeded to win to have a shot at getting in. I win both these games in rather lame fashions with alot of hand discard and getting some stupid good staging areas out quickly. It's nice playing alex against decks that can't run tag along and they are 7hs. 10 hs 28 vit is SO FAIR
I love this alex deck and it did me pretty well in this event.
So I end up 4-2 and get 11th overall. Dani was also 4-2 with astrid and she got 10th and I got 11th. I feel pretty proud after doing so well. If only we would of had some more players and made this top 16, I coulda got in the big dance baby
I spend the rest of the day doing random stuff, like talking trash with scuba, omar and others. I play some legacy games against arreku and others and defend my legacy challenge nicely
NOBODY'S GETTING CARDS OFF ME SON!
After they do the first round of top 8 we all go out to eat at dif places. Me, ufs house and others like mi crew and osei and omar end up going to applebee's I think? I cant' rem. We had fun there, me and Kirk Polka were coming up with a legacy lullaby, I had andrew olexa laughing so hard he was almost crying and so much other random stuff was going on. It was a fun evening and beer was drinked. Nuff said.
The next day top 4 wraps up with jon winning potm, I win the legacy event and matt kohls wins the sealed event. 3 out of 4 people who rode in matt kohls suv won a tournament and paul got close in a bunch! YEAH UFS HOUSE POWER I NEEDS MORE! Legacy was really fun, I have a crazy game against richard dt's yun seong and I beat scuba dude's tira in the finals to take the prize home. All aids finals, now lets make that happen in something besides gd legacy, lol. Legacy was so much fun and I do some more legacy challenges on this day, including one against anti goths dhalsim mill deck. I beat it one game with no foundations, this was game 2 and game one i won on turn 2. Thank god my deckwas so fast, b/c he got his combo pieces out very fast it seemed. So thank you big jesus statue for blessing me with legacy cheat powers.
The prize support for my win was nuts too, omg it was crazy. A uncut sheet, huge prize pack with foilys out the rear, new sexy foilys too. Steve def hooked everyone up and hata was a great head judge the whole weekend. So after all this we head our separate ways and all depart on our separate journeys back to god knows where.

I still can't believe you said that to that dog that was in the eleveator, and we shut the M, in team mony, out of the elevator when jeremy was holding that huge card hotel lol, sry dood.
