I see one great feature of 'aces' boxed sets is they put cards that are only available from one faction's ships in the hands of the other faction without forcing them to buy ships they will never use.
Great example is an Imperial player wondering if it is worth buying a pair of A Wings that will never get played to get some PTL cards, but now he can get the Imperial Aces and get a pair.
More pilots are just gravy.
So, I suspect we will se more things like Aces. In fact I'd be surprised if after a wave or two we don't see an Imperial Aces 2 with a Tie Defender and maybe a wave 5 imperial ship.
It seems to me that the Rebel Aces 2 box would make most thematic sense to build around an X-wing and Y-wing. For the Y wing there seem to be a lot less stand-out characters so getting an ace or two wouldn't be hard.
But for the X wing, while there are many pilots whose cards we don't have yet, are any of them better than Wedge? How could you have Rebel Aces, an X-wing, but not Wedge? Do you just throw in a reprint of Wedge, or do you come up with a new version? Possibly stating that the current Wedge represents Wedge as he was during the destruction of the first deathstar and that his skills improved as the conflict progressed
OR...is there some other pilot whose skill is equal to that of Wedge and would make sense as the X Wing 'ace' pilot?
