Can there be a solid deck 4 all scenarios?

By tactician93612, in Strategy and deck-building

I know I'm reaching out here.. yet, I can not help but wonder.. Is there

a possibility for a solo player to have a solid deck for all quests/adventures?

If made up with the 'right cards', surely there has to be a way. I have yet to

find the right mix. Perhaps, there is a great solo deck that may not win 'every'

situation. And yet, does have the highest grade of probabilities to do so...

Thoughts ? :)

Yes, there are some decks for it.

Maybe there are any scenario that needs special deck, but now i dont remember.

First of all: the overpowered decks --> outlanders (for example: Hirluin, Elrond and Beravor), dwarfs (Dain, Ori, Thorin)...

And i built some decks good for all quests: Boromir tactics · Glorfindel · Balin; also: Bifur · Mirlonde · Pippin lore... there are several, for sure.

I have won all quests in the Core set, Mirkwood cycle, Khazad-Dum, Dwarrowdelf, 2/3 (not Cair Andros) in Númenor and the two APs I have from the Against the Shadow cycle in solo play with Elrond, Lore Aragorn and Spirit Glorfindel. It's a very good line-up. Journey to Rhosgobel was a close one, though - I usually don't include an overwhelming amount of healers. But yes, it is possible!

Shouldn't Elrond be removed from play right away in Rhosgobel? Just like Glorfindel.

Only if you choose to use the ability.

Great question about Elrond!

It's hard. Most quests can be beaten with a good deck.

I try to beat each cycle without changing decks (my own campaign mode) but usually okay multiplayer.

Just to be clear, Elrond's healing boost is a response, and responses are always optional. So you can choose not to use it and he won't be discarded.

Quite - his response effect is powerful, but you can't use it in Rhosgobel without discarding him.

Not entirely true. If you can use Asfaloth and/or Northern Tracker, etc to clear Rhosgobel from the staging area while staying on stage 1 for as long as possible, you can then heal Wilyador all you want until you reach stage 2. I've done this to great effect before.

Good tactic for Nightmare version of the quest

In my opinion, the most powerful decks are Caldara mono blue, Drawves, Outlands and Elrond's Noldor.

The Caldara mono blue is quite enough to beat all quests.
